does the butler do laundry autonomously?

I'm building a pretty big house and wanted to put a butlers quarters in where only he has access to the laundry room. (I'm going to lock the laundry room for rest of house). I don't play with butlers so I want to give this a try. Will the butler do the laundry on his own?

I have had 2 different butlers in 2 different homes do laundry on their own in the past. One was in an open area to all and one was in an area attached to the butler's quarters which were locked to household members. I don't remember any family members trying to do laundry in either household. The locked laundry was in a pretty big house on a large lot.

I noticed the butler would never clean the lint trap so the dryer had a habit of going up in frames when no one was home. Make sure to upgrade the dryer to avoid this.

avoid it? The butler going down in flames would be amazing! lol
  • Yes and no. They will do the laundry, but half the time they just stand around not doing anything they're supposed to do. You sometimes have to praise them to get them motivated. I personally use the maid instead; however, maids don't work on the weekends. If your butler is being lazy or you get tired of micromanaging them, you could hire both maid and butler.

    Sure I love chaos too.

I'm thinking about all of the many threads unhappy because dryers catch fire. :D
