Does the "Legacy Edition" of the Sims 4 confirm we are at *least* halfway through The Sims 4's life?

I'm not a computery person, so when you say it like that I suppose it sounds plausible, but I still think we're further than halfway. They said they have content for up until 2021 I think, I don't think it's going to go on after that.
