My dude capped his household, without trying, due to alien abduction and all the babies he had from it. I don't know why it was so feast or famine throughout the player base (do you ever do the scientist career? because that seems to be the most reliable way for me to get abducted still), but that was one of the few times I felt like yeah, this needs to be tweaked.
Yes, i play the science career a lot as it is one of my favourites... I expect I could find ways to make an abduction happen if I looked into it, but I am quite sad I never got a single one spontaneously.
I really miss the spontaneity of previous versions. Something that stands out in my head even now was the day I was playing a family whose child got crushed and killed by a falling meteor and a few sim hours later the mum got abducted by aliens. That family had a really bad day!
Although the events weren't part of my plan, I loved it because it broke the mould and I had to adjust my storyline.
But, ya know, there was always the option to quit without saving.
I remember seeing a complaint about the Murphy bed after that pack came out, someone said they had spent hours and hours making their sim and as soon as they placed the sim in their lot they got crushed and killed by the bed.
I had to laugh lol. But I couldn't see what the fuss was about because the sim would be in their library, they could just quit without saving. Plus, everyone knew there was a chance of Murphy bed death... why risk it if your sim is so precious?
