So usually people complain when they add bars and now for the lack of bars.

:D that's true, but the thing is — we indeed have very few matching bars. Most bars we got with recent packs are very themed and will look out of place in houses. And sometimes you want a bar in a mansion.

Aren't bars shown under dining room when you choose a specific room to look at furnishings for and not kitchen?

It's a boring answer I know, but Maxis have a budget for pack creation. To add those items you mentioned and/or additional swatches would presumably take more time/ resource which would take them over budget. As to why they choose to prioritise the particular items included in the pack, I'm guessing its what they perceive the majority of Simmers want. I've heard lots of people say they want more kitchens in the game, but not new major appliances, electronic equipment, etc.

I agree that the lack of wallpaper/ flooring is an odd choice though.

Good question. I think they have a certain budget and have to pick and choose.

If we are really getting 9 new beds, then itis a shame we don't get a toddler bed. I don't need more fridges or bars but that might be different for different players.

I think players do want new appliances. While the toaster oven is cute it is not the type of item I associate with an interior designer. If you look at some of the gallery builds, in particular larger homes or mansions you will see two ovens or fridges placed together. There was a missed opportunity to give us a range based on the popular Wolf brand or a large built-in fridge. I do appreciate getting the separate stove top and ovens, console does not have access to LittleDica’s cc.

Speaking of kitchens I think the counters without handles is based on Peacemaker’s wardrobe, the one that was including in the anniversary gift. It looks like the set has a similar style and color palette. I do wish the counters with slab handles had some metal hardware and more textured countertops. It looks like the type of cabinetry players make with the TOOl mod by using the shelf and blank canvas.

After the positive feedback the devs received about the Snowy Escape stacked plates you think we would have more of that kind of clutter, especially for this pack. Glasses, coffee cups, bowls and more plates would have been great. I was concerned about how much base game clutter they were using in the trailer and the weird design choices, like placing bathroom (who has shampoo bottles on their bookshelf?) and gardening decor in a living room. If you need to do that to fill up shelving maybe you should create more realistic clutter?

Lack of new tile wall covering, I would love to have a wall match one of the kitchen countertops. Creates a nice focal point. Also the absence of a new modern toddler bed. Love the one from Eco Lifestyle but it does not work with the bunk beds. Also why no handbag decor for the walk-in closets? I would also have loved to see a watch tray or jewelry box.

Is anyone else tired of the leaf pattern? When I saw that on the curtains I was disappointed. It looks a little dowdy and not very designer at all. I wished they had at least used the leaf pattern on the Paranormal love seat. It was pretty.

Overall based on the trailer I found the new furniture underwhelming when used on its own, I get the concept the devs were going for, give us the basics but it looks like everything came from the same store. When I think of interior design Hey Harrie and Felixandre’s Livin’ Rum set comes to mind. Everything is so thoughtfully coordinated and curated. I guess I am craving more Architectural Digest than HGTV.

I personally agree with you on the addition of more appliance, particularly kitchen appliances, but it's not something you hear people here on the forums demanding, so much, I guess people feel that they have higher priorities right now.

I think it's a bit odd too. I would have loved more floor or wallpaper, plus a toddler bed. We have so few toddler beds, I would have taken one less regular bed for a toddler one as we need those way more.

I agree on the toaster oven, maybe because I'm not American though. The team has been doing better recently of not making everything so overtly American in the game, though this has gone back into that, I hope it doesn't stick. I wish they told us what it did at least, as far as I can tell it is basically the same as a normal oven but on a counter? I must be missing something as I don't see the point in it :/.

Most of the other furniture does look good though, especially love the kitchen sets and the stove tops :).
