Makes me think of what the fruit really might be like. Hollow, with blood-like fluid inside? Too easy to accidentally smash into bits, leaving a mess on the floor? Maybe if you took a bite out of it, you could accidentally smash it and waste a lot of it. And that's no fun.
They might be using a straw on it for a reason. It might just be filled with fluid, like a juice box. The seeds might be floating in it, or they might be embedded on the inside walls of the fruit. This is fun to think about, don't mind me.
