EA is playing smart

Yes, they're hiding winter--that's why it was in the trailer.

EA is trying to sell you something so its only logical that they will advetrise their product to be as appealing as possible.
Thats issue for every product that is advertised (cerials for exmaple :P), your job, OP, is to decide if you want to buy product or not and not get manipulated by marketing, so... what are we excited here about?

Personally i dont understand the issue with lack of acumulating snow but i understand its imporatan for other people :)

That one has been shown to be more of an optical illusion than anything else caused by another sim walking the other way leaving footprints. You can also see all the other snow is flat.

If they spoke about every season except winter like that, then sure. But how the Seasons work, we haven’t been told much at all.

We don’t know how Fall/Autumn will work (if it’s gradual or if a loading screen will trigger it the first time you’ll travel in Fall/Autumn). We don’t know anything about the Scouts, the Rain, Storms, Hail etc.

They can only talk about what is shown in the trailer or blogs. That has been made clear now.

So it doesn’t say anything, other than they can’t talk about it until it’s been officially revealed.

I'm sorry OP but I wouldn't hold my breath for good news. There's no reason they would deliberately keep the 'real' look of the snow secret in the trailer. The most logical thing is that what we see in the trailer is what we get.
I'm happy to be proven wrong though - snow is big part of a seasons expansion, and if it's as badly looking as it is in the trailer, then it's make or break for me with this pack. No matter what wonderful features we get, it's a hard thing to overlook for me. Hope is a good thing, but in this case it's a bit naive.

I tend to agree with you. Only, I'm beginning to wonder: if WYSIWYG with the snow, why won't EA cop to it? They admitted to no lounge chairs, no beaches, no picnics, etc. This whole "we can't talk about it", regarding the snow, it makes no sense in that context.

Unless...unless...there really is more to snow than what we've seen? Little by little, I'm letting myself give in to hope. I want Seasons -- I've been waiting for it since TS4 day one.

On the other hand, I know myself. Every time that I see Sims trying to shovel, build snowmen, or make angels in that thin glazing of snow, it's going to irritate me. I'm a real stickler for certain things. It's just how my brain works.

I suppose that, if I were a Sim, I would have the perfectionist trait. Some things, I just can't let slide. I try, but it will bug me, no end.

They've also been oddly quiet about features they knew would upset people in the past. I saw they didn't talk about the elevators at all from cl.

Discussion or not there has been no snow build up seen in any world. That’s not something you withhold from the announce trailer. Seeing how snow is a flat texture in the trailer, that is what it will be in the final product. Their talking points are setup to put the winter discussion last to keep people under some false impression that there’s more there than there is. It’s a simple yes/no question that’s being dodged because they know it’s an obvious issue players will not like the answer to. Has nothing to do with any official reveal, the basics have already been revealed - we know what each season will look like.

Don't get your hopes up, you'll only end up more disappointed.

I haven't seen anyone give what seems to be a sound, logical reason why they wouldn't show the full appearance of winter in the announcement trailer. From a marketing standpoint, withholding "full winter" for a later trailer or blog isn't going to net them any sales that they wouldn't have gained by showing it from the very beginning and impressing everyone.

SimGuruGrant confirmed couple minutes ago on twitter that there is no deep snow. I'm personally ok with it and the only thing about snow that I don't like is that the roofs are sharp when covered in snow.
