Early Graduation?

So far, I have had two of my three Teen Sims graduate early when invited to do so. All is well. I even found their degrees in the family inventory. What I'm curious about, is there is an option on the computer to graduate early. Does this yield the same results? I know for a time that others complained that it only made them Drop Outs, same as when a Teen ages up, but that's also on option. My third Sim got the option to graduate early at the end of the school day, but I hesitated. I almost said yes, but chickened out at the very last and hit cancel. Now, I see there is an option on the computer. Dare I take it? I'm hoping to send the kids to Uni together and the sooner, the better. There is only so much 'fun' to be had in high school. I'm growing bored.

Please, and thank you, in advance.
  • Why not try it? Save first. Try it then exit without saving if you don't like the outcome.

Erik was given the chance to graduate early the next school day. This time I didn't hesitate. I also played my other household so that his girlfriend could also graduate early. :) I feel as if a weight had left my shoulders.

  • To be eligible to graduate early, your teen Sim will need to stay an A student and have high skills. It’s also helpful to join and excel in an after-school activity. Once you become eligible to graduate early, you may receive a phone call asking you if you’d like to graduate early. You can also check the High School category on a computer to see if you can graduate early.

If you choose to graduate early, your Sim will receive a special trait and a high school diploma but won’t get a formal graduation ceremony. Teens who graduated early can join full-time adult careers and if Discover University is installed, they can apply, enroll, and attend university.

Can they go into University as a teen if the graduate early, or do they have to turn to young adult first?

I believe so, according to the article.

I have four Teens at the moment who have all graduated early. Not only do they have their framed Degrees, but they were able to apply for College Scholarships, too. :)
