Eco Bugged Household (Random -25?)

@Calico45 this probably won't work, but how about trying to save them with a different name? As I said it probably won't work but may be worth a shot?

@Starfree I gave it a shot and it didn't work. Being honest, I tried to check how bad the damage was and they seem bugged from the oldest incarnation I have in the gallery.

@babajayne I'd really appreciate trying. I'll upload my oldest gallery version which I played back during Eco. (The woman there is a version of an even older Sim, so I have no idea if she is bugged, too.) I am Bluebell23456 on the gallery and the family will be called Slane (bugged).

NAPs were one of the major things driving me mad about Eco Lifestyle ???.
I was so glad to disable NPC voting.

The fines though were a nuisance so I just offset them with a ‘kaching’ each time.

I hope you can fix your Sims. I’d offer to test them but I have taken Eco Lifestyle out.

I had to select a 3rd trait and a new aspiration for Natalia, and one guy needs pants, just FYI check all outfits etc because I don’t have EL, RoM, Vampires or Spooky Stuff.

@ncisGibbs02 Honestly I modestly dislike NAPs. Ok, actually pretty close to hate NAPs. And yes I disabled NPC voting too.

Even if you play vanilla, you have to run it only once, then you can take it out again.

With MCCC you could also use the Remove moodlet or Remove hidden trait function (I never know which one it is, just try both) on the affected sims.

Yes, the NAPs are nonsensical if taken as written. I've come to interpret them in terms of what they do, not what they are named. "Back to the good old times" is very useful in poverty challenges or early Build a city stages when electricity and alcohol are a luxury. Basically the 25 dollars a time are taxes.

If you don't use mods there is a vanilla way to decontaminate sims affected by nuisance Naps, just in case this is useful to you or anyone else.

You have to play a different household who know your affected sims, then invite them over to your lot, click on the mailbox and cheat 'on' the offending Nap, then immediately cheat it 'off' again. This should remove the Nap behaviour/attributes, or at least it used to when I had to decontaminate dozens of sims this way. I rotated through my households, and each one threw a party inviting the max no of guests, then when everyone had arrived I would cheat on and off all the annoying Naps in turn. I never used it with Back to the Good Old Days though as that problem wasn't affecting my sims. My issue was sims constantly playing with clay, programming and baking white cakes, and never doing anything else.

I cleaned up a favourite save of mine that Eco Lifestyle ruined last summer thanks to this method, which I was advised to use by some very kind and knowledgeable players on AHQ. I remain very grateful to them. I'm planning to use that save for CoL in a few weeks and let's hope there is no similar disaster. IMO EL is the worst expansion to date because two major features were bugged. Even now, the neighbourhood state constantly reverts to neutral in all my saves, and I've never been able to fix this. And after the big Nap clean-up described above I turned them off, and individual sims only vote in the Evergreen Harbor development ones or occasionally eco appliances.

Thank you for your suggestions and help everyone. I'll spare you the details, but July is a hard month for me so CoL was one of the few things I was looking forward to and this took the wind out of my sails. Your help really means a lot.

@babajayne I downloaded your version and they are fixed, so it is 100% a hidden NAP trait/effect. Thank you for the help. Worst case I'll use these to remake them. Much better than starting from scratch.

@EnkiSchmidt I do not typically mod, but have and definitely would to fix this without hours of remaking bugged Sims. Thank you for help.

Funny thing is, when I was playing Eco I didn't notice many bugs and kept playing. Turns out the damage was worse than I realized. It is a good lesson for me on how bad it can get.

The vanilla method does indeed work! I can now cleanse my gallery version. I would have never figured this out all on my own, so thank you very much to everyone that contributed.

I was a bit confused as to what you mean, but sims in the sims 4 do autonomously spend smaller sums of money. Like ordering food at food stalls when theyre hungry for example
