I love crafting in the sims, especially when it uses collectibles, produce and flowers that my sim found or grew. It seems like this pack has quite a number of crafting activities, so that makes me happy.
Candles, especially scented ones, give me ideas for cute arts and crafts shops, creepy supernatural candle diagrams, and a sim version of that lady who's house always smells like lavender bath salts. Ah, it would be nice to be able to make soap, too :')
I'm intrigued to learn that this pack also comes with canning. When it was just fizzy drinks, I was less pleased, but I feel better now knowing that there are groups of related skills instead of just a scattering. Better grouping of activities in packs make them automatically feel more worth it, imo, since it makes for a more complete theme and makes the skills feel deeper, since they are more connected to each other in some way. I'm really hoping the canning includes general preservation, jams and fruit in syrups, and that there are a handful of recipes for using them (eating directly out of the can, on toast, in a pie etc). Being able to make up my own recipes for fizzy drinks would be fun, especially if I can make plasma fruit drinks for my vampires! Maybe even plasma jam and jellies
Making clothes also sound very intriguing! I'm looking forward to hearing how it will work. Silk worms and fabric scraps? Does it come with a sewing machine? It would be wonderful to have my medieval sims make their own sleeping tunics etc., and clothes shops could be much more involved. Since the knitting clothing items are locked, I'm guessing this will be too, thus giving more of a point to clothes shops as you can buy things you can't access through normal CAS.
The fact that pollution is in all worlds has redeemed the pack more in my eyes, although I am sad that Strangerville currently isn't included, since it is my apocalypse world of choice :( I hope that trash will be generated in Strangerville, at the very least, then my steampunk sims can build their trash furniture. (I sincerely hope woodworking gets a big update too).
I'm looking forward to seeing how San Myshuno would look polluted. Generally, it's awesome that we can grunge up any world, since many people complain that the worlds are too bright and colourful. Instead of having only one grungy world option, we can convert our own. Many simmers have been asking for grunge for a long time, and I only recently realized through others' comments that this is actually a grunge pack. Sure, the focus is on being environmentally friendly, but the gurus knew that many of us would just use it for the grunge, so instead of a SP with a small collection of items, we got something much more. The trailer really gave off the completely wrong impression, imo, and I feel bad for being so negative about it so quickly.
