Thank you for the suggestion, I should have said in my OP that Im a vanilla player so no mods for me to fix the problem. I saw somewhere when I was googling this that there is a way to cheat the footprint back to neutral as the area is not dropping on its own. Anyone who knows the cheat that would be very helpful thanks!
