Eco Lifestyle question

When Eco Lifestyle came out, I played with it for awhile and my sims lived in Evergreen Harbor. However, I wasn't really into the Eco Living play. Since then I have disabled NPC voting and turned off Eco Footprint gameplay. I deleted all of Evergreen Harbor and haven't touched it since. Honestly if it wasn't for the Build/Buy and CAS I would disable the pack completely.

Here's the thing, I do like the apartments in Evergreen Harbor so I was wondering if I play my sim in that world, will I have to deal with eco lifestyle elements regardless that I disabled everything? Can it simply be another world to live in and not deal with the voting, neighborhood changes, and the trash all around?

thanks

  • As long as NPC voting is off, you need not to worry about having unwanted N.A.P.s being enacted. I see that you also have Eco Footprint off, so I believe everything will stay put after the initial rebalance.

The neighborhood trashes, sadly, have to be manually dealt with by yourself through enacting N.A.P.s that relate to changing the neighborhood appearance (can’t recall off of my head; I think it’s Modern Development and Green Initiative).
  • I just purchased the Eco Lifestyle expansion pack. Pretty disappointing. There aren't enough buildable lots. The majority of it is non-playable area. (Decorative?!) It seems to me there isn't enough going on to actually merit the title "Expansion pack" More like a stuff pack with some minor extra game play thrown in to make it seem more palatable. (Didn't work though) Anyway.... Going back to what you mentioned, The trash and nasty air situation. One of the first things I did was get that stupid NPC green initiative enacted. Then I went into the community lots via build mode and used the sledgehammer to smash all the piles of rubbish and old furniture and tires and crap. Also busted up some of the cement tiles on those lots and put in grass in it's place. After the Green initiative was enacted all the non-playable area began to grow green stuff, and it's less of an eyesore. And the air quality improved too, so they aren't hacking and coughing anymore. I plan on disabling that crap too. Because they tend to vote in the stupid, chaotic crap if you're not on top of it. Like the open sex and theft thing. Oddly enough, we all wanted burglary to be more of a thing. Like you could select the criminal career field and actually be a cat burglar and sneak into other Sims houses and steal stuff. Instead, we are given the NPC about stealing things from each other randomly. This is not what we had in mind at all. Hopefully disabling all the NPC stuff completely will make it more tolerable.

  • @SuzieAdvie I don't believe you can edit posts until you become a full member.
