Eco Lifestyle tips please

I'm finding this pack hard to get into. I'm playing my usual family in Brindleton Bay and the eco footprint is neutral but the green arrow is pointing down. I've upgraded all appliances in my home to recycle water and I've four solar panels and a wind turbine. Do I need to start going around to all my neighbours' houses to fit solar panels to bring the eco footprint to green? That's a dose.

Also - the community sites - can I set the ones in the new town to be what I want? Since I'm not playing a family there I obviously can't vote.

What else am I missing? Candles, fizz... is that it?
The voting every weekend - any tips on that?

Thanks.

  • For the community sites, you'll probably have to do the same thing I did. I'm playing a sim in one of the neighborhoods, so I was able to push for her community site to be a garden, but I wanted to make the other two the marketplace and maker space, but couldn't vote on either of those (or convince residents to) since she wasn't in that neighborhood.

So I just temporarily hopped into one of the premades, dropped them at their neighborhood community site, and used "testingcheats on" and shift-click the sign to set it to what I wanted. Then I removed the other families from my played househoulds and returned to playing my sim, who now had access to all three.

I think right now the eco footprint is bugged, I'm having trouble keeping my neighborhood green, even though it's the one that's supposed to be green, and I've already gone through the other buildings in the neighborhood to remove any industrial objects and add as many eco objects as I could.
