Yup, you're right. The community is never pleased because each player has a differentiated and unique idea on how they want to experience their game, and some will like a pack idea and others will not. You saying they did us dirty by releasing Laundry Day is an example of you, a member of the community, not being pleased with a pack.

Well I was referring to the extreme negative reactions (OP is a fine example), its a shame that whatever pack they drop we get the usual round of “they don’t listen! We didn’t ask for this!” Blah blah blah, it’s boring. And inaccurate in this case, as others have mentioned they owe us on the eco theme they never delivered..?

And I imply Laundry day is good, so I dunno why you’re coming for me lol I said washing machines have nothing to do with an eco lifestyle? As in, the eco theme that won the vote for that pack? ??

EA is, despite what many of you think, not obligated to give you what you want. They decide on the product, inspired or not, by what the customers express a want for. Then you as customer decide whether to buy the end product or not. The numbers will determine if EA made a good decision or not. You can be offended or displeased to your heart's content, it isn't going to change anything business-wise.

If they send out a poll for their fans to vote on what the next stuff pack will be, I expect them to be honest and allow US to choose... since, you know, they literally asked us to vote on the next stuff pack. But that's not what happened... they were always going to have knitting, regardless of what we voted for, all while lying and telling us that we're voting for it.

I know for a fact that knitting didn't actually win those polls... especially not when we had much more interesting concepts (like 'Happy Haunts') as options. Then again, people still bought 'My First Pet', despite it being an obvious cash grab, so you might be right.

That sounds more like an assumption to me than fact, unless you're working for EA and have seen the polls themselves (many of those votes wouldn't have been seen online anywhere because people don't always state what they're voting for).

There are players who have no interest in Happy Haunts and people who did vote for knitting/arts and crafts. (not necessarily the same people).

Eco Living pack sounds great to me, I'm excited. I can't wait to see the new world and hear more about the pack. :)

I feel more skeptical right now than critical. I hope that Maxis have some interesting things that they want to bring to the sims4 with this. Just eco living in the sims4 alone does not sound very interesting to me, but if they add more things to it so that it will have meaning, and offer new ways to play the game, then maybe.

I think a pack like this would have worked so much better if we would have had farms or cars though. Just like I was missing deep diving in IL.

I hope that being more eco-friendly is not limited to just rabbit holes.

Count me in. I'm always looking forward to see what they manage to put together. I also love Island Living. I'm really just glad that things are being made for this game. The pricing is very reasonable as well (imho). It's a low cost hobby for me and my hubby appreciates that a bunch. Besides, I was never a want-want-want type of person :)

Island Living is my favourite expansion haha!

As for Eco Living, I like the theme. I wanted Generations more but I do like this theme too. I prob would have liked a country one too, both sound good and neither better than the other to me lol.

As a single parent it's not really low-cost to me, especially being out of work now cuz of CoVid, but I don't have data or a phone number on my cellphone, don't have cable tv, and don't eat out, don't go to movies, so I make the choice to spend my entertainment budget on Sims haha. I might wait til I can bundle it or get it on sale though but I don't disagree that it's reasonable. When I look at the dollars spent vs. hours I've played it's about $.50/hour which is not at all bad. But of course if someone doesn't play that much, it could be very very expensive too haha.

As for whether it is enough to justify an expansion... I can't comment on that since I have no idea what all is included yet lol. I'll wait until I do.

No, I'm with you. I'm excited about this and I'm hoping for more news.

I used to play often with the off the grid lot trait, and I hope there are things in this pack that would fit to this lot trait.

Im pretty excited about this, though I'd love country living even more. Since this is an expansion pack, my expectations are high. Hopefully it doesn't get squashed ?

You guys must understand that pack takes like forever to develop. You also must understand that not everyone wants the same.

And YES we will get horses and farming eventually. Probably this year even. Just wait and see for yourself.
