Elevator Doors

Unfortunately, elevators are meant to transport sims into and out of a penthouse.

Though I too wish for a functional elevators to move between floors.

Unfortunately you can only place one elevator per lot. They aren't meant to be used in the same way as stairs. They act as doors for penthouses - wherever you place the elevator is where Sims will appear when they enter the lot.

Right but how do you get an elevator on the second floor. Once you place it on the ground floor another one doesn't automatically appear above it on the second floor.

What they did basically was not to re-enter live mode directly but work around it by going into Menu > Just Go to Manage Worlds (without saving)> Select their active household and re-enter the lot they were working on earlier.

Not sure if it works the same way for a community lot. But perhaps you can direct your sim to make the travel over to the community lot to find out?

I just tested it out. It works. As I can see, sims first go outside and immediately go inside, this time to the other one.

But after that, I wanted to test out another thing.
If you are building a generic lot, for some reason you can get those elevators on any lot from the generic lot section.
So I put one on a non-penthouse generic lot and did the trick to have two of them. Then I sent my sim there.
When the lot was loaded, the sim spawned next to the ground floor elevator. However, he couldn't go to the second floor.
The elevator however was unclickable unless the sim was outside the lot. In this case, "Go Upstairs" interaction came up, which caused my sim to go near the elevator. However, the sim still couldn't go to the second floor.

So in conclusion, this trick only works on penthouse lots.

There is a cc functional elevator somewhere out there, unfortunately can't quite remember who made it. ?
