I fail to see how emotions don't matter at all. They really often are a response to a Sim's traits and don't cause any issues to my gameplay. If anything, it makes the Sims feel more alive and realistic. If the Sim homes don't contain a lot of emotion-influencing items, it's even better as that constantly happy moodlet won't override others so much. My Sim is often feeling focused due to her genius trait. She also feels hungry or tired every day. Hot, too, as it's currently summer in my game. I just can't imagine emotions not being in the game. I think they maybe be misunderstood by some.
