Enchanted by nature: Fairy discussion

With fairies finally officially confirmed by the trailer and the blog post I think it is time to have a proper discussion about them, similar to how we already a have a world discussion about the new pack as well.

Here are some screenshots. I will add a list with what we know so far in the first post. Please feel free to join in on what you think of them so far.

According to the blog post they should be able to fill this need with a potion as well. I will definitely look into that option as well.

That's a cool detail I didn't know. Let's hope fairies can fly over water

I wonder what they will be able to do without a fairy form. Vampires can exist without a vampire form so I hope something similar can be done for fairies as well. The pictures show fairies with moth wings, and even a fairy with horns (blue skinned fairy in original post) so I hope for some customisation that is not only cute and pretty fairies.

  • Despite the minor irritation that all of them are apparently stuck with wings, there's something about them that reminds me of the old White Wolf TTRPG Changeling: the Dreaming.  Okay, it's mostly the eating emotions thing (which, in C:tD, was just to keep your magic up and not forget your fairy self)

They do seem to be otherwise pretty customisable in look, which is a plus.  Going to be interested to see what the face/head accessories are.

Yes so many questions! Faeries' emotion diet sounds fun to play!

I think they may be able to fly over water, because ghosts can do that already and ghosts' flying/hovering animation seems similar to that of faeries. Faeries just seem to have different poses for flying which is really nice!

//edit. I need to correct myself, ghosts can't fly over water. I thought they could because my ghost sim stood in a shallow water in Ravewood and it looked like she was flying over it. I guess I need better glasses 😓😅

  • I wonder how often they have to feed on emotions, and how the Sim feels afterwards, possibly similar to vampires. The more extreme mood of the Sim, better nourishment? How do they feel about regular food? So many questions. Here's to hoping I'm not gonna leave a wake of sad Sims behind me just because my fairy has to eat.

I wonder if they have special interactions with water. Can they fly over it, just dipping their feet? Probably not. But good heavens, those wings, those clothes... and those wings. 😍

The need to absorb emotions is something I did not expect. It somehow reminds me of vampires only with emotions instead of plasma. I am curious to find out more. They will be different from spellcasters in that way.

I think this will come in handy for when sims have those strong emotions and, unlike with the vampires, they will seek out the fairies. I am looking forward to all the pretty fairy wings people will create for them. 😁

I love anything with mythical creatures and vampires especially when they mix with humans!

I was just checking it out for inspiration, season 4.

I drank every episode/season up when it was on HBO.🙂😄

I have only every seen one single episode. I had no ideas there were fairies in that show.

  • My own opinion: I am still a little apprehensive about an occult coming with a pack. Judging by the trailer fairies seem interesting enough. I am looking forward to integrating them into my game alongside spellcasters, mermaids and werewolves. Let's hope fairies also get a crib and a gravestone.

I am looking forward to creating them in CAS and going through all the fairy CAS options. I might even skip all the CAS overviews in advance to explored this myself. (If I am strong enough to resist)
