Ethnicity
-How do you approach ethnicity in your game? I usually make all of my Sims on a spectrum of tan to brown. Once in a while I will make a pale Sim.
-Do you avoid playing, marrying, creating, or interacting with Sims of certain ethnicity? If i have a really pale Sim I won't let them have children with another pale Sim because I want all my Sims to look at least a little bit different.
-What personal/cultural ideals do you fell you impose on your Sims? I usually don't move fathers into the house for legacy challenges, and marriage is kind of annoying imo. The dad can still visit, of course, but I don't want to have to control more people. I just want his genes, i know that sounds bad but it's true...
-Do you create characters of a different ethnicity than your own and give them stereotypical personalities, hairstyles or clothing? Creating different ethnicites; yes. Stereotypes; PLUM NO!!
-Do your Sims closely reflect your personal ethnicity and cultural values in gameplay? Not really my ethnicity. I will usually make my Simself a few times, but everyone else is whatever I feel like creating at the time. I can say that none of my Sims are 100% white unless it has to do with the storyline (example: an ancient Welsh princess or something), they're usually a mixed POC or a non-mixed POC. My cultural values have less to do with my race and more to do with just how my parents raised me, if that makes sense. They weren't like "You're Black, so do such-and-such" they were always like "Do such-and-such b/c its the right thing to do" obviously we disagree sometimes, but not on a devastating level.
-Do you incorporate socio-economics when creating Sims of various ethnicity? No. I just tend to try to make my Sims rich because it makes gameplay much easier; I'm less focused on ambitions and more interested in creating families and making friends.
Sexuality
-How do you identify your Sims in regards to sexuality and gender? They're all pansexual. Some are monogamous if I want to do a legacy challenge, but others are usually polyamorous. It's so much easier in TS4.
-When and how do you choose your Sims sexual preference/identity? I don't really choose. If i happen to see a townie who looks pretty, I just make my Sim interact with them, sometimes they become more than friends (if the person is pleasant), sometimes not.
-Do you avoid creating LGBT/SGL Sims or do you incorporate them actively? I don't know what SGL means, but i do make LGBT sims. I usually only create women in CAS (trans or cis) and they marry/date whoever they hit it off with during gameplay. Most of my sims end up either in polyamorous relationships incorporating all genders for partners, or they settle down with one person (usually two cisgender Sims of different genders b/c I don't want to have to go into CAS everytime I want them to have kids) if I'm doing a legacy. I never make gay male sims, but I do make lesbians. I've never had an aromantic Sim either, because I personally have more fun when my Sims have partners.
-Do most of your Sims or your main Sim reflect your sexual identity? I'm pan so kind of, but I only make binary trans Sims that are dmab, and I'm dfab, so not in that case. I have made non-binary Sims a few times, but the nature of the game makes that very hard, because it will keep saying "he" or "she" even if I want my Sim to be "xie" "hir" or "they".
-How do you feel about playing romantic actions with a Sim of a different gender or sexual preference than you? I don't really do that, b'c I'm pan, and I don't make aromantic Sims, so that doesn't really apply...
-If playing a couple of opposite genders, do you engage certain romantic interactions with one gender? I just switch sometimes because I don't want one Sim to initiate everything, but usually my household is only a woman and maybe her kids, so I wouldn't be able to control a male partner. Also, there are no opposite genders, just different ones. That's like saying that a dog is the opposite of a cat; no, they're just different.
-In same gender couples, do you place masculine and feminine roles on them? No. Tbh traditional gender roles are meaningless to me. I don't see a reason for them at all. They're inefficient, they're bigoted, etc.
Religion
-Did you notice the absence of the word "Christmas" from The Sims team and do you have any thoughts on that? I noticed that they called in "Simsmas" which isn't a very pleasant sound on my ears, but other than that, I think they should have also mentioned "Simsukah" or "Kwansims" because why just do it for one holiday, especially if items associated with the other holidays were included in the celebration pack. I mean, why acknowledge it sometimes and ignore it other times?? Be consistent.
-Do you incorporate religion/spirituality into your gameplay? Not at all. I grew up with laidback parents who were slightly religious, and I haven't completely figured out what I believe yet, but my Sims usually only care a lot about family, skills, friends, and parties.
-Do you view yourself as a God or eternal being among your Sims? No, i never thought of it that way.
-How do you view/observe life and death in your gameplay? It's just a thing that happens. It does annoy me in TS3 how Sims would stop actions to mourn, but in TS4 i killed a Sim's mom right in front of him and he didn't care, that was a little too weird. I don't start out with elders, because I like my Sims to have kids with their genes to be passed down.
-Do you consider your Sims to be of a certain religion? No. My Sims don't even know what a religion is.
