Every time I see "Schedule a date"

Same. Don't you love how it shows up a lot when they're already on a date? It would be nice if you actually could schedule one for, say, Friday at 7PM.

Yep. I just interpret it as a bad date so she's thinking about another one with someone else and leave her date alone for the rest of the night. xD

Same with parties or events. Although impromptu, come-as-you-are parties can be fun, sometimes it would be nice to schedule a party on, say, Saturday at 9pm. Couldn't we do that in Sims 3?

We most definitely could schedule them in TS3. I had almost forgotten about the wedding and how horrific that went when I tried to pick a day and time only to be whisked away immediately. Scheduling in general then just needs to come back.

While I love spontaneous dates and parties, I'd like to be able to arrange them in advance as well. This should even give you a "bonus" for certain formal party types, such as weddings and dinner parties. It's not fair to deprive your friends of the chance to be at and brag about witnessing the wedding of the century just because you didn't have a chance to tell them your plans even an hour ahead of time!!

I agree. I want to schedule in advance. Not just dates, but all parties. Especially weddings! You need time to prepare for these things.

I was going to say it's totally not fair to the bridesmaids either since you give them no time to afford their dress. Then inspiration kicked in and I was like, "Wait a minute! We can't even have bridesmaids!" We should definitely be able to assign sims as bridesmaids and groomsmen or ask them with a chance at rejection based off how close of friends the two sims are. At the very least a Maid of Honor and Best Man so they can hand the rings over during the ceremony.

@Ashcarr, that would be awesome. I know with story-telling I often dressed my sims appropriately and told them to stand here and pretended they were part of a wedding party. I don't think that would work in TS4. Sims ADD would kick in and they'd wander off to get a juice from the fridge.

I hope they'll add that to our wedding parties. I heard they're thinking of increasing the number of BFFs a sim could have, and that would be a perfect mechanic to use for this.

In many cases, the sim is getting married to one of their BFFs, but say they have a few more. They could pick one of those to be the Esteemed BFF, while the others would just be BFFs. This would take the place of Best Man/Maid of Honour and Bridesmaids, so it could work nicely with non-traditional weddings as well. This would allow a lady sim to have her Esteemed BFF be a male friend, while her other BFFs in the ceremony could all be ladies. The flexibility would be very inclusive and AWESOME B)

The closest I've been to a nontraditional is outside rather than a church and the officiator was a lawyer instead of a priest. Quite nice actually. I made up "Esteemed BFF" of course, and non-traditional weddings are all very different and unique. I was just trying to think of things that would work for sims customs without being gender based or religion based, because not everyone believes what I believe. (Otherwise we'd have churches and there'd be no such thing as non-traditional.)
