I wanted to make a topic to see if anyone else was experiencing this problem. Whenever all my sims are asleep, but there is a baby in the family who isn't sleeping, the game doesn't go into that extra fast-forward. I'm pretty sure it used to do that? I feel like it makes no sense for it to not speed up if there is a baby awake, unless the baby is crying or something. I don't know if they expect us to play with that baby or what, but it seems very much pointless. Hopefully in the next patch they change this (assuming its part of the game and not some issue caused by my mods). But is this occurring in anyone else's game? I do have a ton of cc and mods installed but I don't know if that would do something like this?Apologies if this is an unnecessary topic or has already been discussed!

Cause if it is an object, and not a sim ... why does the time not continue fast forward if sims are sleeping.I just normally end up fast-forwarding it myself when the sims are alseep and the baby is awake.

The fact they can program a cradle doesn't mean the baby in it isn't an object. Comparable to the way Sims 3 throws the camera to your lot when there's a fire or your sim discovers she's pregnant. I think it's fine the game notifies you the baby's awake like that. If you want to ignore it you can press 3.

It's always been like that if you have a sim that is awake in your house hold, the game will not go ultra fast forward. It will just go to 3 but that's it.I personally try not to fast forward even when all sims are asleep. The moment my last sim goes to bed my finger is already pressing one to resume normal time speed.Because I like a moment to plan the next morning, whose going to make breakfast shower first. And it gives me a chance to look around. I don't like fast forwarding except when sims are at work or sim is heading from one end of the neighborhood to the other, I won't fast forward.

@MasonGamer I know I just felt confused that babies counted in that too, since you can't actually play as them. It made me wonder why I was stuck watching them wiggle in their bassinets at the normal speed LOL

I'd just like to have the fast forward button back. Having that fourth speed button was nice in the Sims 3.

@MasonGamer Sadly there's no option to put the baby to sleep when you want :( It's just a matter of hoping all their needs are up except for the energy one when you send your sims off to sleep. Unless there's some pattern of feeding/cuddling unknown to me that gets them to fall asleep!

@Scobre Me too :( the x3 just isn't enough for me. I've also noticed that the fast forward is a little wonky in this iteration. When I fast forward my sims and they have queued up actions, they take super long to move onto the next one unless I switch it back to normal speed and then they move on to the next task seamlessly. Does this happen to you?

I haven’t tested the baby thing myself, but if you want ultra-speed in general, I recommend this, thanks to that mod I can activate it whenever I want and it’s extremely useful :) I don’t need to endlessly stare at my sims when they’re painting or something.

OMG thank you so much for linking this! I'm downloading it straight away. Having to wait through my sims sleeping in the current x3 speed was starting to drive me nuts!

Contrary to popular belief, maybe Babies aren't 100% objects?
I say experiment with it, I haven't had a sims 4 baby in a long time, if you can, try put the baby to sleep and all your sims to sleep, and see if the game goes into ultra fast forward.

@dafadolly Yep. When NPCs enter it switches to normal speed too but I know that is intentional.
