I use half of @83bienchen 's mods. They mostly do tuning stuff to make the game a more enjoyable experience. I think my favorite of their mods is the auto wedding ring when sims get married like in sims 2. Other enjoyable ones are plants only go dormant in winter, more children and toddlers at parks, acne as an actual system and not just case detail etc.
They also have a whim overhaul mod that I can't recommend enough.
