FEEDBACK on Get to Work: Tell us what you think

I haven't bought GTW yet and I'm not sure when/if I will. I was waiting on reviews because I was concerned with some things and now that I've read people's opinions my interest in this EP is quickly fading away. Here's a few things I've read that left me disappointed:

Retail:

• You can't use the register for payments and therefore there are no lines which breaks the immersion. In my country there is no such thing as "ring people up", at least not that I've seen.. every retail shop, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. use cash registers and the fact that we can't in GTW is a big deal for me.
  
• I always loved in OFB that customers would leave with a shopping bag after making a purchase. Again it adds to the immersion and another thing that is missing from GTW. The things customers buy just poof into their inventory.
  
• Apparently it takes a long time to close a deal and I can see that being tiresome.
  
• Employees are useless and don't do what they are told.
  
• People getting the same customers over and over again as well as children that should be in school and shouldn't be shopping on their own for things like paintings.
  
• No lockable doors so customers go to the back rooms like they are at home.
  
• Lack of decorative objects for retail, like clothing racks.
  
• There are no changing rooms. I always loved that in sims 2 you could try on outfits and look in the mirror. With GTW it's like "poof! you are now wearing the outfit" and then poof again a few seconds later and you're wearing your clothes.
  
• The fact that sims don't sit down to eat at bakeries when in the trailer we see dozens of sims eating together has really put me off of creating a little bakery/coffee shop. Please stop with the false advertising.
  

Photography:

• We can't choose the poses sims make in both selfies and in the photography studio.
  
• I've seen a few selfies and it seems you can't zoom out so it only takes a really close picture of sims' faces. There should be an option to zoom out more.
  
• Really really disappointed that we can't take group photos. 2 people is not a group photo. I was really looking forward to take pictures with my whole family or with a group of friends.
  
• Also I read that you can't take a picture with let's say, an adult and a child? You can only take child with child, adult with adult. Not sure if this is true, but if it is, another huge disappointment.
  

Aliens:

• I wish you would give us an option to turn off supernatural creatures. I wasn't happy when you decided to add ghosts via a patch, after a few days when I went back to play with one of my families, some of my sims were friends with ghosts. And now you add aliens to a work EP (meaning, it has nothing to do with supernatural) and also don't give us an option to disable them. I'm not a fan of the disguise thing because now every townie can be an alien. I often like to have my sims to be friends with townies and it would be really annoying if after working hard to be friends with someone I would then find out that sim is actually an alien. At least make it so that if you don't visit Sixam, you get zero aliens in the normal worlds. This is a serious issue to me because I like to keep my games realistic and I'm really not a fan of supernatural things, at all. So please give us an option to turn off aliens.
  
• I've read abductions are quite frequent and you can't cancel the action of "go check the bright light" or something. Again, not good. I liked that abductions in the past would happen like one in a million, and once it did happen I would actually find it funny. But if it's something that will happen on a regular basis, it would definitely annoy me. Not to mention I don't want my males getting pregnant!
  

Other things:

• The new "world" is super small and why can't we visit the working lots when we please?
  
• I hate it that we can't go to the hospital if our sims get sick.
  
• When a sim has a baby at the hospital, the baby poofs back home. Why can't the sim take the baby in their arms and go back home together? Everything in the Sims 4 is so poof this, poof that, it really breaks the immersion and it comes across like you're taking shortcuts all the time. It really cheapens the experience so please stop doing that. :(
  
• If you go talk to a patient they will get out of bed to talk to you.
  
• Not enough doctors? Lots of patients waiting around. You shouldn't be the only doctor seeing patients at an hospital.
  
• Lack of interactive objects in build mode (like new activities), traits and aspirations.
  
• No home businesses.
  

In conclusion:

I think I'm going to wait and see if you change/fix some of these things. Otherwise I don't think this EP is worth 40€ with so many things broken/lacking.

@PinkJellyBeans, You are absolutely correct, but for me i think most of these will be fixed in a upcoming patch, but the additional game play means way more to me, because we get to actually do more during the day to fill it up with a ton to do. That beats sitting around the house waiting for your sim to come home from their rabbit hole. Well, you do get to watch the maid come and stare at your messy house (but not clean it) take your money and then leave LOL!!! Just sayin.

I loved queues in Sims 2.. And that we could use register for payment... .. They are completely lazy! Because they didn't want to make animation for that..

Changing rooms? If we can buy only that clothes that are on the mannequin, changing rooms are no needed....
I wished that WE had to buY clothes, and this shop in the wardrose will disapear.. But, I was so stupid to think that..

I think I'm going to wait and see if you change/fix some of these things. Otherwise I don't think this EP is worth 40€ with so many things lacking.

This is ridiculously unfair. You have not even tried the game itself to see the positives present in it. All you are focusing on is the negative. That's like being prescribed a a thyroid medication from your doctor to keep you alive, but you refuse to take it because the "side effects" are less than savory.

If you played the game and found it to be lacking, that is an entirely different matter. To not even try it for yourself, though, and then criticize a product that you have not play tested (and thus do not have a balanced perspective of what all is offered) is absolutely absurd.

With 6 real kids, I'm hoping you will excuse me for not reading through 6 pages. I found what I hope is a bug. In manage households, under unplayed households, in not in world, one use to could go in and see all townies and pull them into CAS and save them or put them in houses ect. I spent tons of time doing this in S3 just to get a copy or to bring them into my household as a spouse ect. and was so pleased that in S4 that it had been fixed so that we could get at townies so easily. So sad that this feature is removed. Please tell me this is a bug. :/

Just started the doc career, so not sure about the game yet, but I will come back. :)

Just went back in and they are there??? While in game the first time, I was online. I clicked to see something from the game and it took me out of the game to one of these pages. While out, I decided to play offline, not sure if that is what caused it or not. But ingame I switched from online to offline and then didn't see them. So at this point, not sure if there is a problem or not, but thought I should update this so you would know how it came to happen. :)
Went back in again and it works offline; must have been a glitch from switching from on to offline while in game, so not sure if they need to look at it or not??? Oh well, glad to see it back.

Really? I disagree .
Because, if one "buys game, feels it wasn't worth it"?
They end up seeing posts of : " You should have done your research first, rather than run out and buy it..."

I agree with much of the OP.
Still on the fence about buying it, even though it's 25% off (sale) at a few places.
Doesn't make it "unfair" to judge FACTS of a game they know will disappoint them. :p

After all, I've seen ENDLESS posts of how epic or great the Sims 4, the GP of OR, or GTW was "going to be" BEFORE it ever came out.
So how come it's "OK" to judge then, when it had NOT even been played when the posts were made?
Double standards much?.... >:)

I knew someone would say something like this. I, for one, like to know what the product offers before buying it. Most of the points I mentioned are game breaking to me (aliens being probably the biggest problem) and my list is quite long. I was particularly excited for retail, photography and owning a bakery and those things seem to have a lot of negatives. It's not like I based my feedback on nothing. I've seen a lot of gameplay videos and read enough reviews to know that there are a lot of things that I won't like, that's why I made the post, because I want them to improve those things. 40€ is quite a lot and I'm not going to buy an EP just to "try it" and see if I like it. I need to be sure it's going to be worth it to me. I don't buy things on a whim or just because "it's the sims!". Maybe what I mentioned isn't a big deal for you, but you know, different opinions and all.

Looks like the expansion, only cade hospital doctors? and also in stores could have an option to lock the door by which they will buy and is in places that can not for example: kitchen, bedroom etc ...

This, I totally agree the immersion of the shopping experience is missing from this expansion. Bring back the shopping bags, working tills, quests, changing rooms with woohoo etc...
