- I have only tried the retail so far but am enjoying it. I find it challenging which is a good thing in my opinion. I may have found a bug with the bakery displays, though. I have two open displays side by side. The sims only buy from the one on the right side, never the left. It looks like their thought bubble shows that there is some kind of barrier. The exact same thing is happening with the warmer display and the ice display.
Also, every few days, when my sim has to go to work (regular job in culinary field), she freezes and stops responding. Time continues but I can't get her to do anything. I repaired my game twice. It seems the only fix (temporary) is to move her to a new lot.
Anyone else having these issues? - rebeccah10110 years agoSeasoned VanguardIt would be great to see this expansion explored even more in the future, with more interactive careers!
- just wondering, i know i sound REALLY DUMB right now but im only a kid, how do you get gtw?

Its an expansion pack you have to buy, price differs depending on where you live. You can buy it in loads of different places (shops) or you can download it online straight to your computer though origin :) - I have only played the retail part so far, and am gonna start a new game to play a detective. I do like the game though so far and the only thing I have to ask , is do you think their is anyway you could make the retail field somehow register as a career? I made an ambitious sim, and she kept getting sadden/tense that she was "unemployed" through gameplay. And then how about giving us a choice on doors locking? I tried to make my sim have her "home" and bakery in one spot and people kept going to her "homey" section of the store. lol. :)

Thanks for your post. I would like to remind everyone to read the OP before posting in this thread. We are seeking feedback from people who are playing Get to Work. We want to understand what you are enjoying, what you think is missing and generally provide feedback on your gameplay experience.
So because I haven't played GTW I take it my post won't be considered as feedback? All I did was actually put together a list of things various simmers (who played GTW) pointed out in several threads. I wasn't trying to be negative for the sake of it, I was showing genuine concerns about things I've seen from this EP that stopped me from buying it. :\ So I hope you will at least consider that."MarianneSimmer;13489312" wrote:

Well, it can't be feedback, technically...

It is. From different fans, in fact.
But let's just drop it. I made my comment, they can choose to either ignore it or not. :)- Sims get to work. When it come to the shops, there is not a coffee shop, there is a bakery but the customer can only buy and eat the dry cupcakes, cookies and muffins, the coffee machines are missing in this game machines that can make all kind of drink: espresso, cappuccino, frappuccinos and all kind of blends that this machines makes, that is big minus for this pack. other things that I do not like is that:
1) the customers can go around the counter where the register is and the only way to get them out is to "ask customer to leave" option, the place look a mess with all the people inside the same space where the register is.
2) The employees they hire don`t do nothing they do not listen they are alway talking with the customer if the owner ask them to ring the customers they ignore the order and every time they have to fire them because they don`t do nothing. so what is the point in manage employees if they do not listen. this part of the game make no sense.
I was also disappointed because i though this will look more like a center city and is only 3 shops and one empty lot. - Just finished up a 9 hour day in retail at my sims gallery. She did not bad. She sold 5 paintings for a profit of over $2K simoleons. For the most part, sims stayed in the gallery area aside from a few that went to her office to play on her computer. The downside, for me, was that she was not having any fun at all. It would have been nice to have a new aspiration for this EP related to the dream of owning a store. One that would make a sim happy (or have a bit of fun) while serving customers. Next time she will bring her life partner to help with it.
We NEED locking doors and I can't even begin to fathom why they weren't added with this EP. - professorlilith10 years agoRising VanguardPlaying the detective so far, and apparently doing a "horrible" job. I loved being a beat cop, though, and am enjoying the attempts to solve the puzzles as well as fraternizing with colleagues and witnesses. I don't feel up to reviewing my experience of the game. Also, since I'm mostly trying to recreate a particular historical period, I'm not sure how universal my experience is. For instance, I expect I'm one of a very tiny group eagerly awaiting the arrival of disease in the hope of turning it into a plague.
Oh, but wait, I forget. I'm dealing with Sims players. Of COURSE there's a ton of us hoping to start plagues.
