Finally got a Sim with the 'no emotional control' trait

I've been trying to get a Sim to grow up with a full red horseshoe for emotional control, and finally did it this week. I had him cry and throw tantrums and chose the parenting chance cards that lowered emotional control, but the final push was accomplished when the mother died of old age when he was still a teen. I spammed the 'cry' action, got his negative emotional control maxed, and aged him up. (Well, he was happy about that - no 'sad because everyone forgot my birthday', even though he was only one left and had to put his own birthday candles on the cake. Sims!)

Then, I realised that this might not have been a good idea. He's had one brief mood swing, but I've had more worries that his toddler will kill him. I'm saving a lot, just in case he overdoes it and dies before Cleo becomes a teen and can live on her own. (I think Cleo is 19th generation, so I'd be very unhappy if she got taken by social services because her father laughed himself to death.)

Does he have a partner who can take over the household till the toddler is old enough to do so?

The other father lives in my second household with Cleo's grandfather and uncle, and I don't think the game is smart enough to transfer a child to the household of her other parent, or transfer the parent to her household, alas.

You can transfer the child or any other sim easily in the manage household screen.

Right, but I don't think I can do that after the father dies? I suppose I could do that if he got to 'hysterical'. Cleo is half-way through the child stage, now, so hopefully, her father will make it to her teen years.

My sim has that trait. I find it hilarious when she has a manic breakdown. I'll try and take a pic next time I see it but its only happened the one time so far.
  • That is definitely the worse trait of the bunch that came with Parenthood but I find it does give the sim a little more personality. Might be best to always have some moodlet solver potions on hand or to do yoga/take aroma therapy baths if you have Spa day.
