First the Cake Went Missing . . .

Today, I was busily and happily playing my game. One of my Sims children was having a birthday.  Erik had a photoshoot and a concert, but he managed to bake a nice white cake for Harmony's birthday. I had him place it in his inventory, lest the twins get the illuminating idea to have a piece, each. 😮 I wouldn't put it past either one of them. Boys will be boys, after all.

Yet, when Erik got back, just prior to party time, I went through his inventory to place the cake on the table so Harmony could blow out her candles, with help. This is when I realized there was no cake to be found. 🙄 Happily, there was still enough time for him to bake another one. Finding it in the menu, though, proved another challenge.

Things were going well. The family showed up to help celebrate this milestone of a First Birthday. I even was able to take Harmony into CAS to change her wardrobe. Her hair was cute, so I left it as it was. Things were wrapping up and I was looking forward to editing and changing my pictures over to jpeg. I still use imjur and from there I can create a special folder for the forums, here.

As I was watching the great exodus out Erik's front door, I started to look around for Melodie, doing my own Toddler Check, if you will. I couldn't find her. I looked to the icon so I could click it and have the camera zoom over to her --- and that's when I noticed there was no Melodie among the family icons! Before I hit the panic button, I checked the computer for MC Command. I saw I did, indeed, have the family size changed and she was there at the start of this gaming session. So, what happened to Melodie?

First the Cake went Missing and then they came for Melodie . . .  Apparently, I need to go through my Mods folder, yet again.  I don't like these kinds of surprises. So not fun.

I have yet to sort out the missing cake, except to surmise when I dragged it, I missed the desired target? Although, I thought I made certain it was in his inventory before he set off to work. Hm . . . bears more contemplation, that. Unless he had a real craving for the white cake, I always cheat up his needs to full before sending him off to a concert and/or photoshoot. He goes into a rabbit hole, if I don't follow him. Last thing I need for him to do is have to do the pee-pee walk off of the stage to relieve himself . . . Can you picture the Headlines over that?

Oh, good to hear you found a solution. Must have been real upsetting losing your little girl. I'm still wondering how Erik lost that cake. 🤔 Maybe he got hungry?😁

  • That would have been a scare, especially after the leaf pile fire 😨 I am relieved that Melodie is safe and sound with her family ❤️

Thank you, that gave me a wonderful chuckle. Since I posted this -- before I went back to rollback and replay things with Melodie still in the household, I have since discovered what happened. It has been awhile since I played a household over the limit. I totally forgot when I took Harmony into CAS, that I can't use the game-mechanics for this, without losing a Sim. My bad. Took me to lose her a second time before it dawned on me. I've been under the weather, lately. Other than that, I plead the Fifth.  Once I figured out that's what became of little Melodie (whose birthday is coming very soon), I rolled back one more time and replayed the events.  Phew, thankfully, I was able to use the MCCC CAS mechanics, to sort out Harmony's hair and outfit her properly. I swear some of the clothing combinations are just hideous!

At any rate the birthday party came off as desired. Everybody had a great time. Andrew is now friends with his first cousin, Sajik Talek Sen Dene, which is really cool, since that family lives just down the hill from Erik's house.  All is well.

  • Toddlers move real fast, they always go for the cake. She might be holding up in a safe house somewhere in your game with that cake 🎂.

I wish you good luck. 🙂
