Sure, the climbing wall is nice, but I just thought it could've benefited from more gym equipment. Pull up bars, free weights, stairmasters, and climbing machines. It also features aerobics videos on TV, but even Sims 2 had that, and they're not as complex as actual equipment.It's good that SPs are cheap and contain at least one item with new gameplay, but I just think each SP theme could tap more potential to make that $10 price tag worth it. So far, the one with the best value for me is Backyard. The others have CAS and build items that I like, but are just okay in terms of value.

I think more gym equipment would have been boring. We already have several of them to choose from, and unless you're into gym irl, there's nothing more similar than two gym equipments where you're lifting heavy things. So I'm really happy they went for something different (climbing) and I'm also happy we got earbuds and TVs which are far more relatable fitness activities for me than more gym equipments.

At least that's my take on it.I guess if we think of them as the equivalent of Sims 3 store sets, they have better value (1500 simpoints is around $30, which is how much certain premium sets cost). But still, there's nothing wrong with getting the most out of an SP theme.

From what I've seen, the pack contains a new weight machine and treadmill, but they're just reskinned versions of objects that already exist in the game.

A static bike and dumbbells wouldn't been awesome instead of the climbing wall. And not too complicated. I want normal things that people use on their everyday lives. Call me boring. :confused:

In real life i teach advance challenged yoga poses and I'm very much into fitness and even i think more equipment would be a bit boring however {unless i am doing something wrong} i really wish i could add the tv workouts in my fitness club/group and have all of them doing it at the same time :( because when I add it to my group as an activity {workout} they all run off in different directions jogging doing sit ups or push ups outside and the sim i am controlling can't ask them to join in :'( I would love more fitness "group" activities if i wanted to add a complaint but other then that I LOVE IT <3

I'm not a climbing wall fan(had it in S3 and didn't use it much) and had hoped for some actual machines. We got stuff, but no machines at all to put in a traditional gym. I wanted a stepper, chin up bar, stationary bike, mountain climber machine, or fitness flyer type of exercise equipment. I'm hoping that they add these things in the future.

Yes the dumbells décor would've been really nice and the dumbbells and an exercise ball.

I liked the single bench type thing above and the glass table along with the hair and one of the pants, but I really would've been happy with real equipment. LeGardePourpre, I love the pic above and that was how I envisioned a gym type add on and I would've been over the moon for that. I haven't looked at the pack in game yet and I may like more of it, but as OP said, I really wanted a pack with everything gym related/belonging right in the gym room and with machines. :)

This SP is nice but the name seems to be wrong. There are 4 things related to fitness in this: A new treadmill, clothes, the tv exercise and the Climb Wall. The earbuds is useless to fitness. They was coded to music lovers only. The new objects are beautiful, but fitness? no. They aren't fitness.

I think that there are a design conception problem happening in the Sims Team.

They are defining themes and choosing incorrectly what it could brings. Fitness is an exemple of this and put a laundry in an eco stuff pack is another exemple.

This design process problem is even worse with the earbuds. Since TS1 when a sim is listening to music the fun bar is filled up. This is so basic in the game series that this relation should've never been cut off. If it is overpowered, in a design process, you would create something to balance it instead of cutting off such a basic relation.

For a pack supposedly about fitness, there was very little fitness in it. Such a grand opportunity to add a whole lot of extra items/options, and they blew it! How could I have forgotten about the Sims2 obstacle course? DUH! Yes, that would have been great, and the tires, and rope climbing, dangling cargo net, log lifting (in partnership with other sims), log rolling (Sims2), Olympic style stuff like discuss, shot put, javelin, etc. Yeah, they missed a big opportunity big time!

I disagree. I like that it's added an alternative to the main gyms that have been around since base game. I wouldn't have bought it if it was all about dumbbells and reskins of already existing work out equipment.

The rock wall and the new treadmills and weight lifts. That's it. This lot is all about rock climbing. And some yoga. Ohhhmmmm. It's the focus.

ETA: But I LOVE the new dining set! It's in use in many of my residential lots.

Think my biggest issue not with the wall, but rather i would have wished they added more abilities to tie packs together so they worked better harmoniously. In other words to make lots where activities are feel more interesting to visit, but also helping conserving space in the limited amount of possible lots available. At the rate they push out stuff pack with additional gameplay items you will eventually need to compress them into a few lots, in order to able to enjoy them all.

Then i guess like some said would loved to see weight decor and stuff like to feel more workout like, but i am perfectly fine with wall itself, think unless you made spinning with big video screens or something fun like that. Traditional workout items would not been entertaining for the pack, i mean you often have to watch sims during activities unless you have a home gym. How many want to sit watch a sim lift free weights from a bench or ride a fitness bike etc, less they found a way to make it look interesting and entertaining. I doubt it would'nt be that many aside from a few hardcore fitness enthusiast.

If not the wall then they should probably made dance workout instead like Zumba.

yes, Granite Falls would be good but I rather a real-looking mountain to climb. That is in Outdoor Retreat. Indoor Workout stuff in the Woods, that would take a long extension cord. and rated for outdoor use. Then what if it rains or your feet are wet from crossing the river. Grand Reaper time. lol
