Fix for pets disappearing

Welcome to the discussion. Sorry to hear you have this bug in spite of not owning EL, but it looks as if this little gem came to us in the June 3rd update and not the EP. This bug, along with the one happening with our gardens, were in the update. We're mainly trying to figure out what we can do to get around it, or make it so the disappearances happen less often. And we all have things happening but sometimes not because of the same things. Such as my Sims lecturing pets for bad behavior will make the pets disappear. And because the gardening feature is also buggy, I have had better luck with having pets stay home longer if there isn't a garden on the home lot in spite of them being lectured. It's very hit and miss at this point. But I have noticed with my game that if I back out of the game after about ninety minutes, delete the localthumbcache then restart the game, I have fewer disappearances and a longer time span between those happening. We have tried freezing the pets' motives, needs and emotions. But that seems to stop working after a few Sims days. Another player has been able to keep her pets from disappearing for four Sim weeks even though the family has a large garden, but the home lot is in Windenberg. Last night I was successful in keeping Ringo the cat at home for about 100 Sim hours before he vanished off the lot. It happened twice in quick succession then stopped. By then I was too tired to continue and had to get some sleep. I will be returning to that save this afternoon. Mods or not, console or PC, everyone who installed that update has these two bugs. Give us a rundown on the doggos' traits, what they were doing when they disappeared and if you are able to call them and they return home. Were they given a lecture for misbehaving just before the disappearances began, is there a garden on the lot? Any little tidbit might give us more insight so jump in and give us your thoughts. Hopefully, we will be getting another patch a few days before Nifty Knitting is released, and there will be a fix for this and the gardening bug. I know there are a lot of unhappy players out there wishing for a fix. And the sooner that happens the happier we'll all be. :)
