I can confirm that the cheats still work. I tried this today:
1) Kill a sim
2) add Grim to family by shift clicking
3) Use cheat to remove grim reaper trait
4) In full CAS mode type in Grim Reaper in his name box and make him an adult (for some reason try for a baby does not work while he is a YA)
5) Try for a baby or risky woohoo
6) In full CAS make Grim a YA again. Then, add grim reaper trait with cheats
7) move Grim out of household to not in world but keep favourited
8) Next time a sim dies, the same grim reaper (the father of the child) will appear
You dont have to remove the trait, removing his hair(hood), clothing, and shoes in CAS and then replacing them with something else does the same thing
