Wouldn't that be a lot of sims to be on the same lot? We can potentially have up to 48 sims, and I think that would strain most computers. Would they disappear into their darkened apartment when not being visited and appear after knocking on the door? What about transferring from playing one family to another? I'd love not having any loading screens, but I'm not sure how that would work.
@RememberJoy In Sims 2, if your active sim was in their own apartment, you could see the walls and floors of the other apartments if you hovered over them, but not the sims or furniture inside. If you knocked on the neighbor's door and they let you in (which they might not do, depending on the relationship) the furniture and sims would magically appear all of a sudden. Once you decided to leave and your sim stepped outside of the neighbor's apartment, everything would disappear again.
Now, when it came to switching control between households, it worked pretty much the same as in City Living. You had to exit to the neighborhood view (loading screen one), select the other household from there and load back in (loading screen two). I would be pleased as punch if they found a way for us to switch control directly from the other apartment, with only a single loading screen. That's not a deal breaker though. My big hang-up is having to go through a loading screen when all my sim wants to do is watch action movies on their neighbor's big screen TV, or swipe a helping of their leftover grilled cheese. - Superstara1402 years agoSeasoned Ace

Now the only question remaining for me is how many units max. So yay, 2 units, 3 units, 4 units, 5 units, and 6 units. Now can we have more than that? Is there a limit?
The Sims 2 for example didn't have a limit, but as someone has said, about 51 units made their game slower.
Speaking of The Sims 2, no matter how much units there were over 4, only 4 families could live in one apartment lot while the rest were filled with social class townies. This brings me question if there's a max for player households (no matter of the amount of units) or not and if unoccupied units (aka the units player doesn't have sims living in there) will have filler townies occupy it?
Answers to the questions would be great, especially on TwitterX before the livestream.
There is apparently a cheat for more than 6 units  - RememberJoy2 years agoSeasoned Ace

Ah OK, this makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to explain it, I never did get around to the apartment expansion for 2. This was kind of what I was thinking would be the case anyways, needing loading screens to switch households, but if we can avoid them to visit a neighbor that would be great. - EgonVM2 years agoSeasoned Ace2nd week recap!Spoiler

- EgonVM2 years agoSeasoned AceGameplay trailer tomorrow!
Which means...
More info tomorrow! I'll be doing recaps of this in both this thread and the organized thread. - EgonVM2 years agoSeasoned AceSo then... How do I describe this with words only...
Recap of the gameplay trailer:Spoiler- Property owners living in one of their residential rental lots don't have to pay rent.
- When you are building a residential rental lot and click on a room, you can set the room to either belong to a unit, create a new unit, or make it a shared space.
- Unlike in The Sims 2, each unit can have more than one door leading out, as the video showed making a bathroom between two units a shared space.
- In the upper right panel, there will be a button next to the Lot Info panel for unit configurations. There you can see the unit's name (household's name if occupied), and opening it up allows you to see its size and value, set its number of bathrooms and bedrooms, and set it as home unit. In addition, each unit has different lot traits which you can set through Unit Configurations.
- The Tenant Agreement panel allows you to change the rent per day and lease length, see the unit rating and what affects it, set the rules and fines for breaking these rules, and see the tenants. You can also travel to the unit (loading screen I guess) and unjustly evict the tenants.
The rules shown:- No Social Events
- No Loud Noises
- Maximum Occupancy
- No Trash Overload
- No Ghosts
- No Social Events
- Tenant Agreement can be set differently to each unit, so you can set the rent and rules individually. The rent can even be set to 0.
- Fill Vacancies panel shows you the unit info (rating, rules, bed and bathrooms, and rent) and show you potential tenants who can move in. The higher the unit rating is, the more tenant choices you have.
- The tenant choices only show the amount of sims, the ages of sims, how many beds are wanted, and what is their rent cap.
- If someone is late on rent, the property owner can post a rent demand or even take their tenants stuff.
- Tenants that break the rules or don't pay the rent can be (justly) evicted. (Added justly because there are also unjustly evictions)
- Second chances can be given to those evicted.
- Some observations on the three scenes:
- Tenant Revolt can see tenants protesting.
- Roach problems.
- Apartments can be haunted also.
- There's a tool that can get rid of all the roaches.
- Tenant Revolt can see tenants protesting.
- Toddlers can play with those squat toilets.
Rewatched it some times, but I hope I got them all. - Property owners living in one of their residential rental lots don't have to pay rent.
- EgonVM2 years agoSeasoned AceThere's one thing I do wonder:
How will it all work with rotational play?
I don't know a lot about these terms I admit, but I guess lease length is the amount of days you have to pay rent and rent per day is the amount your sim owes that piles up until the lease length is up.
I don't want my sims evicted automatically when I'm not playing with them.
Also, will expansion packs bring more rules? - EgonVM2 years agoSeasoned Ace

And all of these are already answered now. Thanks, SimGurus!SimGuruNova:
Not quite - Lease Length indicates how often the tenants pay rent! Tenants who live there might leave on their own but they rent indefinitelySpoilerhttps://twitter.com/SimGuruNova/status/1725215137651704138?s=20
And a hint to more cross-pack rules:Spoilerhttps://twitter.com/Existentxal/status/1725215571682177161?s=20
https://twitter.com/SimGuruNova/status/1725216665271746913?s=20
Still, one question remains for me: Is there a distinction on units moved in by player and units moved in though gameplay? Or is this distinction through that played/unplayed tag? As by "leave on their own", will played/moved in by player sims stay there as long as the player moves/evicts them or can they move out on their own (latter would be bad)?
Edit: SimGuruNova made a correction on the Lease Lenght:SimGuruNova:
Oops wait - slight correction - lease length doesn't indicate how often rent is paid, but it relates to time periods where tenants can break their lease without paying additional fees/property owners can make certain changes to the lease!Spoilerhttps://twitter.com/SimGuruNova/status/1725219464495710215?s=20
