  • Both of the packs are great! 🙂 It depends on how you play your game and what households you play. These two links list the main features of both packs and may help you to decide.

    For Rent

    High School Years

And this link is a overall guide to all the packs

  • It depends how you want to play the game

If you're into teen dramas, prom party and school, "High School Years" is for you

If you're into building some kind of houses, apartments, something tropical, a beach, (south) east asia world, exploring the world, buying some things and going to a cave and visiting an animal (both rabbit-holes) then "For Rent" is the pack for you

It's up to you which match best with your gameplay

I like "For Rent" pack because of more possibilities with the lot alone, you can create apartments, houses you can like share things with other households (like swimmingpool, a yard or each having seperate bedrooms and bathrooms but sharing the livingroom and kitchen for examble)

But maybe "For Rent" isn't made for you

  • As the two people above me said, this is totally up to your play style and preferences. But for me, I prefer For Rent.

  • @kirstey08 Oof tough lol. I like HSY a lot because it adds a lot of cute little things, the world is great (don’t especially like the For Rent world), and it finally makes teen sims actually interesting. So I think if I could only keep one, that would be the one I keep.

I do really really really love apartments though and For Rent lets you do some fun things. If you like your sims being surrounded by more of a community, having the ability to create houses with lots of shared space (kitchen, living room etc) and then place a bunch of tenants into apartments that are basically just bedrooms with bathrooms attached, allows you to do just that. I love playing this way because it makes neighborhoods feel more alive and open.

So I’m very happy I have that one too and it’s also possible I just needed longer to warm to it because it also takes more time to setup than just sending ur sim to school lol.

    Hope this helps 🙂

High School Years is a better EP overall. It really make the teen years finally worthwhile. It has amazing clothing. It adds all kinds of fun gameplay, like hair growth and shaving, acne, etc, that makes the game alive. It has nothing for children and For Rent has marbles, hopscotch and nice clothing. So, if you want more for children, HSY has nothing. For Rent also has Asian culture. If visting a new place and seeing its culture is attractive to you, you might like it more. I just find that I always play more with HSY features, overall.
