For those who don't use clothing CC...

Don't you get bored of all the same clothes?!?? Every time I dress a new sim, I realize I use so much of the same items. Maybe I need to give my sims more of a unique personality so I can try and force myself to use items I don't usually put on them. I have every DLC that is out for Sims 4, so I'm not even saying there is a lack of options....or maybe I am?? lol

  • I don't get bored, every time I create or revamp a sim, I find some new way of mixing and matching.
I own all the packs (apart from MFP) and more often than not I discover a new swatch I never used before that gets me inspired to create the whole outfit.

For example, a few minutes ago I was revamping one of my all time favourite sims (Peach Blossom) to add her to my new save. She has a bit of a 50's vibe: sometimes more rock&roll, sometimes more pin-up, sometimes more traditional. I was playing around and found this dress:

The pattern and style is something I wouldn't consider for most of my sims but that's the fun thing about having characters like Peach.
I think that's the key, to create sims with different styles and to explore all the swatches and combinations.
Granted, I am guilty of overusing some stuff because we all tend to pick for our sims what we would like for ourselves but I try to keep it fun and varied. There's a lot of items and swatches to discover!

Not really. besides some bad CC messed up my Sims 3 game to the point that I had to completely uninstall it & wipe out all of my saves, so now I won't touch it with a 50 foot pole, no matter what. Besides, I have all the packs, and while I don't really like a lot of the clothing, it still gives me plenty to choose from.

I don't have that problem. I've been doing makeovers for all of the NPCs and I'm almost done, and I don't think any of them have ended up being dressed too similar yet.

    I did that too!

I wish we had more of certain items, the general clothing range is not too bad. There is still occasionally an item I will come across and think I haven't seen that before, when did that arrive? :D That 50's dress @AlbaWaterhouse for example - I only came across that the other day. The only thing I feel deprived of is a few particular items - like nice flat sandals for girls, swimwear, hats.

I used to have a habit of only picking clothes I personally liked the style of, which makes things a little repetitive. But now I imagine what that particular sim would like to wear and dress them accordingly.
  • It would be great if we had a color wheel, then one dress becomes many dresses. I use CC because especially the hair. You put the same hair on four different people and even if the face isn't the same they look alike.
  • It's more getting tired of the same looks on men for me... because I do like them to look a certain way which is attractive to me. That means no short pants (capris) unless they are vacationing/fishing or something of that nature and basically nothing outlandish or over the top unless it fits the character. That cuts the male wardrobe way down for me. I can find a lot of outfits for younger women though.
I do tend to put something on that I like (usually pants) and randomize the shirts for men.. it helps because I don't go straight to my favorites.
  • I appreciate that it is more simple to change clothing than before (just use a mirror), and that there are a few more choices -- though all bets are off in a cold or hot weather clothing season, as they are stuck with the same formal/active/party clothing -- but it does not seem to wig them out unless you are in the default everyday outfit vs. hot/cold outfit. It's a lot of specific correlation, but EA has made great improvements in the clothing options and dynamics.

But... what is up with those terrible outfits that so many gallery sims walk around in? There are way too many ugly clothes in the gallery. It can be fun and a snicker, but I have actually occasionally hunted down one and re-dressed them in the gallery because they were shopping in my store every day and totally hurting my eyes! LOL! So sad... ;)

Nope. How can I get bored with such a grat and large selection of nice clothes we have! I spend so much time in CAS to clothe my Sims. And it's really fun for me.
  • I might wish for a couple specific items, but so far I don’t think I have even used all of the clothing available. I make a wide range of Sims, so it keeps things interesting and I still have pieces I want to use for a specific kind of Sim.
  • I dont get bored with EA clothes. I have most EPs though, so there are more alternatives than I will ever need. But my sims also have certain preferences helping to decide their outfit. They like differwnt colors, patterns, styles etc, and their social status might also eleminate some clothing options. That said, I dont pay much attention to their clothes, some sims use the same outfit most og their life. Lol
