Freezing to death - wearing outerwear indoor...

My sims aren't freezing to death but they have the thermostat on warmer and they are all wearing outer wear indoors. If I change them into something else they do that thing where they act cold... its strange.

Do you play rotational at all Simmerville ? You mention entering the lot...
I wonder if your Sim could be cold from an outing, perhaps while you were playing some other household? His temperature just hasn’t warmed up again yet?

there could be multiple reasons that this is happening.
1. your sim could have just returned from a freezing lot
2. you could have took a cold shower/swam in the pool too long
3. you could have drank 20 glasses of water (which is very unlikely but still possible)
4. it could just be a glitch
ways to fix:
1. buy a thermostat
2. drink a lot of coffee
3. get in a hot tub or take a steamy shower
4. save immediately and wait it out. If your sim is still freezing or dies in two sim hours, restart back at the save point and do some other options.

Yes, and this may very well explain it. I play rotationally. But - I still don't get it how the game can give the "freeses to death" modlet to a sim that the game dressed in winter outfit. I mean, dressing them in their winter outfit is our number one cure when someone is freezing. I can't dress him in that wear twice.

I wish the game was a bit smarter, even if this sim had been at some freezing gathering while I was nit playin the lot, the game should easily be aware of the sim was now safe. When you get such a warning when not much can be done, you might even hesitate saving your game. Thanks for the UI Cheat :)

Thanks! Haha, @ the 20 glasses of water :) Can they really freeze to death from that? If so, I really hope they would rather have enjoyed 20 drinks in the bar ...

I play rotationally and I've had no problems other than when the thermostat is still set on cooler and sims are freezing because of that. Still should be fine in their cold wear!

yes, it is possible, just like they can burn to death with 20 cups of coffee (which I actually did for experimentation)

The entire weather system needs a re-fix. What i hate the most is the need to switch off lightnings on the options menu because if not, all my outdoor machines are magically targeted by lightnings all the time. And its not funny to have to replace 4 or 5 rockets in a row. Unless they make some objects inmune to lightning, or make lightnings actually hit RANDOMLY and less often and not specific objects, i just cant play with it activated.

About freezing, happened to me once. I fixed it buying a thermostat and using the more heat switch even if it was autumn if i remember right.. it was the only way.

I never had someone die from temperature on a community lot, but if you want guests to say wear their party attire in Winter, you shoukd add the thermostat to the lot. I normally did not do that, so there are often outerwear indoors.
