Future World Locations

It seems most of our current worlds are based in a North American setting. Sim Guru Grant has recently stated they are trying to work around the world in terms of how they design their worlds. So the question is:

Which continent would you like to see represented most in a future world?

And if you want to elaborate on the specifics such as region and culture I'd love to hear about it.

Something snowy, please! It doesn't have to be literally Antarctica - a Finnish, Icelandic, Alaskan, or Nepalese mountain village with lots of snow and ice and a few trees here and there would be fine by me, too. And I don't even care all that much about the cultural aspect of it as long as I get my eagerly awaited cold climate. We have several warm worlds, rainy worlds, and balanced worlds, what we're still missing now is a cold world.

My second choice would be Africa, especially for the cultural elements that would supposedly be very different from what we currently have in the game, but the weather could also be quite interesting, with monsoon season and all that.

My top two choices are Japan and Spain, either as neighborhoods or as vacation spots. I know Japan's a popular choice, but Spain just has this beautiful culture and style that I'd love to see. Jungle Adventure is kiiinda similar to Spain, but there are enough differences between Spain and Latin America.

Portugal would be a great vacation spot, too. You have hot springs, beaches, castles, farmland, festivals, a busy night life, lots of festivals, and some choice scenic locations. I don't think they'd incorporate all of Portugal into the game, but there's a lot of options for content here.

I'd also like a nice, rural midwest world. Something down-to-earth and cozy, for simpler sims. I've been using Oasis Springs for that, but I'd like somewhere a little more green, too.

I don’t see the similarities with Spain and I live there.

I said they were "kiiinda" similar, in the sense that Selvadorada had a stuff like Spanish surnames and similar architecture, for obvious reasons. My point is that some might think a Spain-inspired world would be too similar to what we already have, but I disagree.

Wow ehm forgetting something?? Middle East????

I was was going for simplicity and only listed continents. The Middle East is part of Asia.
  • Asia, I would love to see an oriental-style neighborhood that's filled with traditional architectures. I know we do have a few furniture items fitting the Far Eastern theme, but there is absolutely nothing in the build mode.
  • I miss World Adventures because the worlds were very distinctive. While I feel Windenburg is an acceptable replacement for France, I still really miss Egypt and China. Ultimately I chose Asia simply because I can't think of any skills/gameplay an African/Middle Eastern pack would bring since I'm not very familiar with them and we already have tomb exploration with Selvadorada so I feel Egypt is out of the question. China (or another Asian-inspired world) can at least bring back the martial arts skill, haha.

I would just love a world where it's almost like a small Asian farming village with the stepped rice paddies and such. Maybe it can be a farming pack!
  • Hopefully we'll know about the Next World very soon as the Next Expansion is coming in June. Hoping for a trailer this week or next.
