I don't know if mine is glitching generally speaking, but I foolishly bought the Seasons expansion pack in the latest sale, and now my huge income that many of my Sims get from their gardens is completely down the drain. I worked out that you need to do your planting indoors so that you can still grow things out of season - as such I started building glasshouses. But I'm not getting anywhere near the same yields - what is that about? And is it fixable?
I suspected I shouldn't have got Seasons. For my kind of gameplay.... I was right. But everyone seemed to love it so much, so I thought I'd give it a go. I'll go with my instinct next time (nobody is going to convince me to buy Eco Living, in other words lol).
And yeah, there was one household where I think it was a glitch rather than my new addition of Seasons, where the household lost all their plants and had to regrow them in the subsequent days.
Seasons increases the frequency of harvest for most plants but offsets that by reducing the size of the harvest. All plants on the active lot and in the surrounding neighborhood will produce a harvest at 5am every day, if they are in season and fully grown. However, most plants will no longer produce 10 harvestables per plant. Some of them only produce 3 harvestables per plant. In addition, sheltered plants always produce smaller harvests than unsheltered plants.
The best option might be to find a plant with a large harvest that's always in season, then splice it with one of your high-value crops.
