Children don't even know how to spell gender yet, why confuse them by throwing these options at them? lol
P.S. I am part of the LGBTQ community but do not believe that we should encourage children one way or the other. Let them grow up and figure it out for themselves and support their decision. We're all born with a gender so of course toddlers and infants are going to have them too. :)
Having said that, is it possible without using the cas.fulleditmode (or whatever it is) to change the pregnancy options in YA and Adults? If not, it definitely should be. I've never tried because I think men should only ever get pregnant by alien women. It's just more natural that way. lol
MCC commander actually had a mod that lets pretty much any two sims who get together to make a baby if they want to. I normally keep that on just in case I want two people to have a baby who normally biologically couldn't.
