I'm very disappointed. Not just by the number of lots, by the fact that a city like that doesn't have apartments for example. They split apartments as this "City Living" exclusive, which I think was quite the mistake. Del Sol Valley could have easily benefited from 3 apartment buildings on those 3 lots in the poorer residential neighborhood. There's a HUGE lot in that neighborhood that makes zero sense (it's on a cul-de-sac, so I can hardly imagine a restaurant fitting in there).
Issue number two is: GTW introduced 3 careers with their own lots, aliens, a Sixam hidden lot and retail... did Get Famous give up on singing and modeling for Del Sol Valley, a backdrop world with 11 lots?
Otherwise, I think the "performance" argument is a lazy excuse since TS4 doesn't load all lots or sims at once, there's a loading screen and a max number of sims per neighborhood/lot to manage performance. So I don't wanna hear that the number of lots in secluded neighborhoods weighs on performance!
My best bet is that they watered down the pack cause they felt it's enough content to be getting in November, what with the terrain tool update coming out at the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if Get Famous sales pay for the terrain tool update indirectly, as it surely took a big chunk of their time to develop. So we're basically paying for less in the pack + what's in the "free" update.
