Get To Work - Pastry shop possible?

Yes, you can have a bakery, and sell cakes, cupcakes, whatever food you cook. Don't think you can sell coffee though.

I tried a bakery shop a few month ago, but it was pure chaos. People kept coming in but wouldn't buy anything. They stood around and chatted all day.

@bluzkat65 What do you have your prices set too? You need to convince them to buy stuff if you have the prices really high.

I LOVE having my sim owning a bakery. It's been awhile though. But yes, you have to raise the prices and put your employees to work.

I created a retail shop, and had my Sim bake various pastries and I put them for sale. The customers buy the whole platter, not a single plate. Did I do something wrong or is it supposed to be like this? Also, they don't seem interested in buying any coffee. I had the espresso bar ready and hired a barista, but no interest.

Yes, if you set the whole platter for sale, they will buy the whole platter. The lot is set as retail, so they only shop, coffee from the espresso bar is not considered shopping in this instance it is there to fulfill the hunger needs only if needed. You could sell coffee if you place individual coffee cups for sale in the display, but I think that's too much hassle. Or, you could set up a restaurant that sells coffee and cake and play it as a restaurant.

I just found the option! I thought that wasn't possible when I looked through the menu. Thanks for the suggestion!
