Get to Work advice?

I’ve read that using the telescope can also encourage abductions.

The pack released March 31, 2015. I bought it in December of that year shortly after buying base game in October of that year and I am pretty sure aliens had been solidly nerfed via patch at that point because I have in all this time had 4 alien abductions and every single one was triggered by me in game by either using the alien computer in buy mode, contacting aliens with the satellite dish, going alien night at the bar, and last week marrying one of my sims to an alien. Otherwise in 6 years of owning and playing the pack I would really never know they were in my game. I use MCCC but I don’t have any settings restricting occult characters of any kind because I enjoy them. So I feel confident in saying that if you bought the pack your regular play style in itself should keep you from being bothered.

I play more or less realistically, and I did nothing to avoid aliens. I had the GTW pack since release. Hardly see any aliens in my game, except on one given weekday there is an alien night at bars etc. Those nights there will be plenty aliens on those community lots. It's easy too avoid going there those nights, not sure if it also requires both GTW & Get Together to exist. On reseidential lots I only had random aliens walk by/knock on door if my sim already had a relation to them. I had 2 alien abductions in my game ever since 2014. I don't find aliens interrupting at all.

Just a quick FYI to help you avoid aliens, Alien night at the bar is every Tuesday in game.

Yeah, I have the packs with aliens, vampires, spellcasters, and mermaids, and I have rarely been bothered by any of them. I think I had on vampire enter an apartment and feed off one of my sims once. Since the pack came out ( I play rotational ). Now I keep the doors locked, and don’t answer the door for anyone I don’t know at night. I made 2 spellcasters and haven’t even seen any spellcasters do any spells in my towns Even though I play a family with 2 spell casters. I haven’t met any mermaids that I know of either, and some sims I send to sulani regularly to fish and things. Though, I would like to find and get that mermaid in the trailer together with one of my sims. I have had a couple of abductions, I think it was with my female scientist. And once with a brother of hers ( he didn’t come back pregnant). So interactions with occult’s is minimal for me. I don’t use mods or CC. Oh, and my Goths live in Forgotten hollow, and have not encountered a vampire feeding yet. They are growing a plasma tree so they can offer plasma to a vampire they might befriend. I just thought forgotten hollow was the right place for them, I also added graves for Motimers parents, and gave the Goths a Siamese cat, and I believe Bella is going to have that seance occupation next time I play the Goths.

Just don't interact with them. For example, if you visit their secret planet, you will suddenly see them in your game. Or if you talk with them in your world. So don't. Also. as someone mentioned, delete them in the "household" section of CAS. Eventually, they will disappear. As for abductions, that may happen, but it was extremely rare in my game and seemed to occur only when I interacted with some. It's actually funny when it does happen and if you aim your camera right, you can watch for when they bring your Sim back in front of your view, lol. The last time it happened in my game was a long time ago, though.

I like realism, too. I don't have problems with aliens, just don't go to the bar on alien nights.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I've decided not to purchase it; I don't need it that badly. Also, I barely play the game anymore these days, I am obsessed with Genshin Impact. Highly recommend you try it!
