Perhaps as she grows in the magical arts she will learn Dedeathify, would that work on him?
There's also the underrated Wolfgang Wilder of the Werewolves pack. Handsome fellow. Might appeal to an animal enthusiast :) He's a hardworking published author in addition to librarian, an overachiever might love that.
