Ghost created in game v. ghosts done dead

It is SAFE to delete Sims from household management right? That has been fixed?

But anyways, I accidentally had one of my Sims visit a bar at ghost night. I usually avoid this event along with the alien night because I am trying to avoid new Sims being generated in the townie pool and I am not really hot on the ghosts. Love aliens but don't need any at this time. I already have a one in my rotation and at this point in the storyline I prefer them to be rare or at least not knowned to me.

But ghosts. Not a fan, usually.

As I said, I accidentally had a Sim go to a bar at ghost event and wouldn't you know, a handful of them (2 I had seen before and a few I never seen) showed up making a ruckus and just generally having a ghost of a time. My Sim went home after a strange night and later when I went to the Household management the new ghosts were already there.

Now. Before that night I only had 2 ghosts. One I killed and another that I have seen in Household management from the first time I discovered household management. That particular ghost I have only seen once in the Bheeda's hunted apartment (I've been aware of him in the Household management long before that, btw) and I have always wondered how he died because I've never witnessed a death except for the Sim that I killed and I play with aging OFF except for active household. The other, the one I killed is NOT in household management and I guess she belongs to these hidden households?

So, my question is. Sims that die in game go to a hidden household management but those created go into the visible household management? Why? Does anyone know because I am curious. And do they have an urn/headstone somewhere I might be able to find?

  • Yes, it is safe lol people got traumatized because of that nasty bug haha I don't know about the hidden households, but if you use MCC you can make them all visible and there is also a option to purge all the ghosts. I usually go to the challet to spawn the ghosts from there, I like that ones!
  • The ghost night event has been updated to use existing non playable ghost first to go to ghost night events. When your Sim dies it goes into what you call the service household, which also consists of all the service sims from bar tender, babysitter, pizza delivery, mail delivery and butler. If you go into a bar during bar night and most of your town is young, the bar night will request ghost that are non playable first, and no active household playable but not active. If the game still can't find the ghost it creates ghosts for the event though ghosts are created by the service household and thus can not be seen in the household management section, however can be deleted usually deleted within a short time. When your sim dies and there are other sims around your sim will go to the service household and will stay in the world until a new message that comes up that says if you have not interacted with the ghost in 90 sim days the game will delete the ghost. If you have a tombstone you can use the strengthen connection to reset the counter back to 0 from 90 days. Releasing ghost to neitherworld deletes the ghost sim, but keeps the tombstone and family tree standing which used to be a bug. Playable ghosts are in the household management system and any npc sim that dies are in the household management system for 90 days before disappearing the game should now give you a message before deleting though ghosts. If any of your played families have a relationship with those ghosts no matter what family you are playing.
