Give toddlers and babies fun!

Firstly they need to stop making babies an object!! I watched a great video on how they could make babies have two life stages (newborn) and then the slightly older baby stage before becoming a toddler, in that stage the baby could be like the babies from TS2 instead of being bound to their cribs they could crawl and have arms and legs!!! I just currently skip the baby stage because it's so boring to be back to TS1 with the baby bound to a crib scenario. so lifeless :( SIM BABYS DESERVE LIVES ASWELL GURUS!!

Anyway if in some miracle the Sims decided actually yeah babies are something we could work on ( -.-) I think it would be cute to have a stuff pack made for these younger ages. I have so much CC that I wish was functional. Toddlers in the sims have always had very limited toys and activities when in reality there is so many toys and educational products available for them.

In TS2 I had a lot of functional toddler and baby objects, from baby swings to a dance along teddy (much like how today's kids are in love with dancing Elmos)

Teaching Toddlers to swim!!

I've always hated how children can just swim with no difficulties and I think it would add to the whole parenthood theme of Sims if children had to learn to swim (ofc it could be made optional like most of the parenthood things are) Using bath toys like the ones below, Toddlers could be introduced to the idea of swimming, you could have armbands and teach them to swim

Functional toddler pools!! for toddlers who are not yet ready to go to the pool and practice.

Imagine how cute it would be!! I just don't think babies have to remain an object!! TS2 babies really were the best and in TS3 we went back to doll like babies, and in TS4 we've remained with that. >.< Toddlers have advanced, however they need more activities. On the topic of adding things for young stages of sims, more toys in general would be good.

WHEN WILL THE SIMS GET PROPER PARKS!! SWINGS, ROUNDABOUTS, JUNGLE GYMS (INDOOR AND OUTDOOR PLAY CENTRES) < busy sims could drop their kids off here ( I used to go to the indoor play centre with my grandma a lot when my parents were busy) day care centres ( like TS3) < would add another open job like the police station and hospital.

If modders have been adding this stuff since TS2, then god why can't the actual sims team do it!!

What I like about this thread is that it's not just a string of demands, it's actually been carefully researched and gives examples of what you want, @FluorescentSoap --with pictures and reasons why you think these additions would be beneficial to the game. Well done!

And for the record, I'm behind you 100%, how adorable would it be to have a teachable moment in the pool, and watch the little ones kick around with their water wings? It could also be interesting to see how the cold water affects potty training as well, lol!

exactly, people are always complaining about a lack of outdoor activities, not only would it bring more to toddlers it would bring more life to the pools in terms of actions. You could have the toddlers learning to swim, children who have advanced well from having a high swimming skill could enter contests at school, or an after school swimming club.

Oooooh, after school club would be awesome! I don't know why that wasn't included with the Parenthood pack, I thought the after school clubs in TS3 were so much fun!

I'm excited to see what will be included in the toddlers pack beyond just clothes and hair. I hope that they add at least more interactions and hopefully (fingers crossed!!) baby stuff!

Same <3 I loved it, ooh I didn't know they were making a toddlers pack. Hopefully it will :) whilst more clothes and hair is always welcomed they definitely need more interactions + educational toys/ other toys.

I agree 100%. Its great that we have the CC and all, but some people don't have great PC or Laptop to use so much mod stuff without crashing. I don't understand why wouldn't the gurus not add it to the game. I mean 1. They could improve it a little 2. There is high demand for it 3. I bet GP or SP like this would sell really good.

I mean just because we have mod for it, it does not mean we do not want Orginal version from Sims to add it to the game. Not all like CC.

Agreed, not everyone wants CC in their game and a lot of the baby items (CC) are not maxis match which is very popular at the moment. Exactly whilst I don't use every little thing that is in game currently I do use most of the toddler items and clutter like the little toys. Yeah for me the ultimate things I want for the sims 4, would be this toddler/baby pack, seasons, (pets which are coming) some kind of university system.

I just think it would be wonderful if they finally treated babies like sims instead of objects, each life stage should be appreciated for what it is.. why do sims only become important as a toddler, they should have memories as a baby too.

I would not say the baby needs 2 life stages it just needs to be unlocked from the bassinet given a needs bar and to have skills like a toddler where they learn over time to push themselves up and eventually crawl.

How sad is it this this even has to be mentioned "they could crawl and have arms and legs" The Sims has ignored babies far to much they really are unplayable now and I loved them in The Sims 2.

I love that idea! I posted in a feedback topic most likely two years ago by now, asking the same thing. Babies could have two life stages. I mean, they do it in Sims Free Play, why not in Sims 4. I love the idea of having a new born, they really don't do much. That could last possibly two days or three. Then they start to sit up, and learn to roll over from their tummy. That's when they can be placed in a high chair, and feed baby food.

Then they start to crawl, zip around in a walker, start to babble and say small words like Mama, and Dada. And also start to gain the motor skills to walk. So when they turn into toddlers them already being able to walk (which I LOVE by the way) wouldn't be such a jump from a non mobile infant.

And with them no longer being objects they could be part of the family again. Chilling in a swing or baby mat in the living room while the rest of the family watches t.v. or just hangs out. They can be in a bouncer while everyone is eating dinner, or once older, in a high chair. They would once again be bathed in the sink, and once they learn how to sit up, then bathed in the tub with a baby bath chair.

Bath toys could also be added not just for babies but toddlers as well. They could float in the filled tub and provide a emotional boost while getting clean. Maybe even different colored bubble bath just for the little ones (kids included). I mean, adults have spa bath like rose petals, lavender, etc.

It would be super awesome to have these in game. If not in Sims 4, I hope the team takes notes, and if we get Sims 5 they use some of the ideas!

@FluorescentSoap , I agree 100% with everything you said! <3 I don't play with Mods or CC so I would really love these items. There is not really anything for a toddler to do outside unless you put the blocks, or dollhouse or books out there with them. For example, I have a niece that is a toddler and she is allowed in the hot tub as long as there is an adult with her. She also swims in the pool with adult supervision! If they don't want to go that far, then should give us kiddie pools for them to splash around in, or bring back the lawn sprinklers so they can play in that!
Sand boxes would be nice too! Not to mention kiddie swings and other playground equipment! B)

All life stages should be fun and unique! Sladly this isn't the case with TS4
