- Reaganbogan2 years agoNew AceFeels like entry level goth, which we already can create. The trench and a hair would've made this pack an instant buy.
- I wish we can use the windows for round walls
seems like such oversight if not - oh well time to start wishing that if we get fairies pack theres lotr elves type clothing that also comes in dark swatches
also time to start wishing theres some medieval furniture stuff there too
time to start having unrealistic expectations for pack thats not even confirmed to ever come :joy: - FreddyFox12342 years agoSeasoned Ace

You know what @CAPTAIN_NXR7 that is a very glaring oversight considering they advertised arrow slits.
Those windows just can't be what they mean by arrow slits. The shape is wrong.
Maybe this will become one of those moments like with the Industrial kit, where they showed a window in the promo art that wasn't included in the kit, and people made such a stink that they had to make the window and add it in later?
I'm not an expert on medieval architecture, but I think those narrow windows probably do count as arrow slits - in the gothic style of architecture. The tiny narrow slits without glass are, I think, more typical of romanesque style. I did a search for gothic arrow slits and found some examples (with and without glass) that were similar to the one in this kit. - childrenofhurin2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot

I think it’s also possible that whoever wrote that description got mixed up and was actually referring to the crenellations (which are in the pack), mistakenly calling them arrow slits. - Luvtehgeeks2 years agoSeasoned VeteranI looked them up too with the same results BUT there was also a random picture of a crossbow necklace with 'gothic arrow' that resembles the necklace in the kit, so there's our bows n arrows LoL. I love the castle kit and will snatch em both up. ???
- ChampandGirlie2 years agoSeasoned AceThe castle kit offers some new details and features but combines well with Get Together and Cottage Living or ROM. It can be used to build castles but also other medieval buildings from that time period. I could use this in my current game or start a new historic game with it.
I like it. I think I was on a break when this vote happened but I'm happy that it won. - Reddestiny9212 years agoLegendcan't wait for them to be out, refused to look at the pics for them too much but for the small price I'll be satisfied.

“Your manor is also sure to be the most magnificent with gorgeous stonework and large portcullis gates that encompass the property. Relax in your lavish fortress surrounded by parapet fences, colorful stained glass, SLIM ARROW SLITS and even llama gargoyles.”
HOWEVER...according to the visual catalogue there are no arrow slits.
The only reason I mention this is because the item is advertised on the official Sims 4 blog. Is this an oversight or am I missing something?
For example, If that window on row 2/ 6th from the left is supposed to be one of the notorious "slim arrow slits" does it have a swatch without the ornate window details -no glass, just open? I'm a confused man indeed.
Indeed that is the arrow slit in question. Long ago plucked from its roots in peasant revolt prevention and readjusted to a quiet life of keeping cold drafts at bay. - CAPTAIN_NXR72 years agoLegend

Thanks for clearing this up @EA_Cade, much appreciated!
I won't lie, it aches my dark heart to learn that this is the arrow slit in question, although I do think it's a lovely little window. I really hope there's a swatch without the glass. Quiet life?! Hey now...unlike myself, my sims are tough lads and ladies, they're able to deal with a lot more than a bit of a drafty window. For starters, they have to deal with me.
I had 'medieval fortress' in mind - as in- early medieval keeps and tower houses with the romanesque style arrow slits that @FreddyFox1234 mentioned. Anything fancy that came after that can't really be considered a fortress. That's just for good looks, wich is also perfectly fine, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love gothic architecture, very medieval too...I want all of it and more. It's the - fortress / slim arrow slits -part that messes with the mind. I wanted it badly.
I shall have to make an official request for medieval ARROW arrow slits. Fortress-style, not fancy-style. Hopefully we'll get one or two in a future pack or with an SDX drop."mightysprite;c-18345142" wrote:

Hmmm...the industrial kit fiasco, which reminds me of my other concern:
Curved wall support. Yay or nay?
And then I suddenly realised that The Castle Estate Kit Promo ART actually does show round towers with windows, so I'm going to assume that those windows can be placed on curved walls. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about... nothing at all.??
