Gotta say, Get Famous game play is pretty lousy
First off, celebrities are far worse than any occult, animals, or anything else ever added into the game. They show up on every lot, and all activity other than fans gathering around them and paparazzi taking pictures comes to a complete stop. In my opinion, they should never show their faces outside of Del Sol Valley, unless invited (easily doable; there is coding to keep Strangerville Sims in Strangerville already). And I don't need famous Sims jogging around Willow Creek, either, or randomly coming to my door just so they can refuse to talk to my sim. Always too much with the way you program packs.
And the fame system needs a major overhaul. It doesn't necessarily need to be easier or harder, but going down a star shouldn't be such a major catastrophe. My teen sim had gotten a little ways past one star, enough so I could see the green. Then he got busy and didn't do anything for a couple of days to help his fame, and he lost a star. Fine, if his points dipped under the level, then yes. But then when I looked at it, he hadn't just lost a level, but ALL his fame. Totally blank. I loathe the thought now of even trying to get it back up, and feel like just quitting and trying something different. So yet another game ruined. I've had this happen again and again. If you go from 5-4, 4-3, 3-2, 2-1,1-0, it shouldn't erase the entire levels worth of fame on the level it goes to, too. Maybe just back it off so that they have to do more than one interaction to get right back up.
It's bad enough it's so boring trying to get fame up to begin with. It shouldn't just go up without trying, but constantly having to update your social status and such alongside of doing as many fame interactions as you can is too grindy. More points for doing things that are obvious attempts at gaining fame would be better. And music should have been a bigger part of it; why there wasn't a recording option added to the microphone and instruments, tied in with the video station to add videos for the songs, and so you could upload those songs is beyond me. As usual, just overdone in some areas and totally lacking in others. When you got famous in Superstar you could play big buggy concerts. In Get Famous, you can walk into a bar and get constantly pestered.
