I'm excited about this, it's an uncomfortable emotion and I don't know if I want it.

Story progression would make gameplay so much more interesting, so I welcome it!

Definitely NO to story progression for me! I can't stand the game making decisions for me and I have a gazillion households that I want left alone. Plus, making Sims get married and have babies is not my idea of "progression". The game already plays itself too much with me fighting against it and story progression would just make it feel like yet another perspective forced onto me to add to the utopian vision of someone else.

Also, can you imagine the glitches and annoyances that would come with it? Vampires being suddenly domestic, constant texts alerting your Sims every time something changes, NPCs that you intended for your Sim to date suddenly moving in with someone else without warning, stories you had set up being disrupted, same sex Sims suddenly going hetero and vice versa, etc...

I know that a lot of people revere Sims 3 for its story progression, but that was just another reason why I hated it. It's a huge invasive "feature" that robs the player of control in their own game.

So, no thanks. Leave my game alone.

I think I would like story progression if it actually had a toggle, but apparently toggles are too hard for TS4, so I'm rather worried about all kind of bugs and glitches...
And I definitely would be disappointed if story progression was the big announcement we all had to wait for for like three months :|

We'll I'm pretty sure if story progression was ever added it would be optional. I don't want it either I like to control my sims worlds and they live the story I basically want them too have. If it's completely optional though I'd have a new way to try to play. When they added in gender stuff they added in options. Aging has options now.. story progression is one of those types of things people use it or don't... much like aging or long life. I just hope they don't put it in a pack because that would be a pack I wouldn't buy and I might miss out on other stuff.
