I've done that maybe 2-3 times. At least the "initial" house, when I expanded I usually built the rooms "from scratch". Its a great feature if you want a house built fast, just pick the colour and place it :)

Yes, I did it quite awhile ago. It turned out a tad strange. I would recommend building the shape of the house you want up front, and then use the styled rooms to fill it in. When I did it that way, I had much better results. Then you have to carefully drag and pull on the rooms to fit the exterior walls.

I've done that. It can be a quick way to make a build, even if you want to heavily tweak it after.

I did that once! It looked alright, I did enjoy that it allowed me to start playing my sims quicker. It just deppends on what mood I'm in as to how i build my homes.

Not really. I don't use styles rooms nor do I like. Same with the blueprints on TS3. Houses never look good when I place pre-made rooms together and since all of them have a square shape it's hard to make an interesting looking house with that. I'd rather build a house from scratch and fill the rooms.

I tried doing that and it just didn't look very 'professional' (for want of a better term.)

There's actually a gallery challenge made by a few players I believe to create prefab room houses. I forget what the # for it is though :(

i never really use styled rooms, unless it's for ideas/inspiration. i always build houses from scratch
