Has anyone ever used the adopt a sim feature before?

I've been playing TS4 for almost 2 years now and have never used it....what is it like? I always go the old fashioned way of getting my sims to have a kid. I always say I'm going to use it then chan...

I made the Landgraabs (well actually half of the Landgraabs, Geoffrey remarried) adopt because they were elders and just like a poster above mentioned the sim goes into a rabbit hole and some time later comes back with a child. In my case it was a toddler and that sim joined the family tree.
