Has anyone put dorms in other worlds?

I hadn't thought about it, but I believe it seems this would make a nice area set up in Magnolia Promenade for student housing.

I haven't yet, but I'm thinking of adding housing to Windenburg and hopefully San Myshuno.

For a couple seconds I was thinking adding one dorm for each of my private High Schools, but because of way too few lots, I dropped it. Will use the "roommate" function in some other settings though, such as Robberton Hostel in Oasis Springs. A sim runs a small hostel there with 4 guest units, and occasionally single sims might lodge there while I decide what to do with them. But there are always available rooms, and as I do control everyone there's no real challenge. So, now I'll fill up the place with NPC students/room mates - if it works like I hope.

This is a brilliant idea! I'm always looking for a more efficient way to use Magnolia Promenade because I never go there. But having it be part of the campus is such a fabulous solution! I can put a boys and girls dorm, frat house, and activity hall there. <3

I've decided to change one lot in each world to student housing.

I made some more acceptable housing in Newcrest, 3 lots.

I went through every single Uni dwelling and remodeled, all of them, because anything looks better than what EA did, lol.

I really like the idea of transforming MP as a satalite to the town that has the colleges, I forgot the name.

I'm making Newcrest my college town. I've already built a pool, restaurant, bar, sorority and fraternity house. I'm going to build just regular dorms and townhouses next. I want to add a Student union/Gym-type lot on the 50x40.

I added student housing in Newcrest.

Does it give a particular university assignment for dorms you make in other worlds?

The reason I ask is because I tried turning a residential house in the new world into a dorm - it was in the middle neutral area of the world near the library. And when I went into the map view it said it was for Foxbury students only.
