I've always (going back to LD's release) had loads come out used occasionally, especially if the dryer break during that load.
Interesting. Once in a great while that used to happen to me, too. And, I vaguely recall the dryer breaking at one point. But I had them replace it. Still, this load was washed a second time and is
still dirty? This is above and beyond what you describe, I'm afraid. I shall try deleting both the washer and the dryer and replacing them anew to see if that fixes the problem. Thanks for your response!

I noticed that if you leave clothes in the dryer for a long period their cleanliness status goes down. Maybe that's why @GalacticGal?
Hm, that makes a bit of sense. I'll try having my Sims wash them again, and make certain they place them into the dryer. Then once the appliance finishes, I'll try to have a Sim take them out again to see if that makes a difference. The only thing that happens to my laundry (in RL) if left in the dryer is that the clothes come out wrinkled. :open_mouth:

I'm currently playing two Vampire households that just got new washing machines and dryers. My standard procedure for laundry stuff is to let Sims do their first load of laundry right away so it doesn't pile up.
In one household, the first load was clean and dry but in the second household, it was used and dry. The only difference was that the Sim in the first household was at home during the day while the Sim in the second household started the dryer and then left for work. The dryer broke while he was at work. I had him wash the clothes again while he repaired the dryer but the laundry still came out used and dry.
What I usually do, after the first load is done, is have my Sims upgrade the washer with a Laundry Additive Tray so they can use flowers from their garden. Then they upgrade the dryer with Lint-Less. The Sims in both households completed these upgrades. Since then. their laundry has come out clean and dry or pristine which makes them all sparkly and happy. It could be a coincidence that the Sim whose dryer broke has been accident-prone since I started playing him several months ago.
Part of my trouble with keeping an eye on the laundry, is that the only one home during the daytime is the Mom, who is an Artiste and also has the Erratic Trait. Trying to keep tabs on Louise is like trying to hang onto a tiger's tail. She rarely completes anything other than a painting now and again. And, yes, I do play with Autonomy on. It's far more fun that way, and a tad easier to run a full-boat as I like to play a large household.
But, I have also never upgraded the machines. Not even once, since I've had this SP since release. Guess it's time I go ahead and allow one of my Sims to do so. We'll see if that works. And thanks for the hint!
