Has your Sim ever been invited to another Sim's party - birthday, whatever?

We have a serious situation developing on potentially unfair treatment of some players's Sims. None of my Sims have ever been invited to parties - I've played quite a few Sims - played families - v...

I only get birthday party invites (broken at the moment because the caterer makes no cake) and GT dance party invites (also broken atm because the bar doesn't spawn).
