my sims get plenty party invites - birthdays, as well as dance parties. nothing else, probably because there is no story progression. aging on or off makes no difference.
so don't feel sad or frustrated, try adding some families to your town whose traits and aspirations would be concentrated about partying and friends. or create a new save game and see if that makes a difference.
games are all about enjoyment, if your nice sims don't get the invites you want, turn the game around: create all the different ghost from those ungrateful neighbors
Who are you talking to? I did not see anyone say anything about fairness, so just wondering.
