I've had it happen to me a few times. The first time was in Sims 1, well actually several times in that. Most of it was the time the burglar who stealing my baby, but I did have it taken once because I didn't hear it crying and well the game was quite unforgiving. I've had it happen once in Sims 2 because one of the kids got too cold. Lost a kid in Sims 3, and finally, in Sims 4 the doozy happened. My sim gave birth to a baby, and almost immediately right after birth the game said something about neglecting the baby's needs and took the child away. I was just thankful that I had MCCC at the time, meaning the game did not delete the child but rather placed him in a home of another sim in the game. I was able to add the baby back home with his mother.
